the rights are yours alone as long as you dont sign it away. hence why im trying to avoid any money included. if someone steals your track only thing u need to do is to prove that u made it first. like with register in a database in your country, bet all countrys have those ISCR-databases. still we need someone to arrange this and decide whats it gonna be, free or not, mixed or not, on a label or not, cd or not. if theres two week left for some deadline this things should be in order soon. i have a track that i would like to share but im not doing it if its any money or contracts or anything in this. |

I agree , leave all idea of money out.Some of us are unsigned , some are.Just concentrate on getting the album out there and keeping other producers hands off the melodies.Im sure that in the long run this will be better than thinking your some major artist and demand cash.Which im sure will derail if not kill off the project. |

Ok so no money is the way forward. It seems we're all in for doing it that way.
The deadline of the 25th is just for track entry. It could take another week or two after that to iron out all the details but at least we'll have a tracklist for an album, to potentially mixed into a set.
I'll start asking around about the best way to put out a free album.
One other thing to concern ourselves with at this point is the name of the collaboration. At the moment we have an abstract TA Album as the title, but I certainly have no rights to use the Tranceaddict name!! |

I think its the way to go , and TBH people, throughout the beatports and other EDM download sites , the listeners arnt gonna pay for something that they dont know.But a free album perhaps will encourage people to listen to our unsigned material and not get confused on why they have to pay for something with no tiesto's or armin's on.
And if its a success , then you have a platform to tell a label that people love your track , and it got so many DJ plays and so on.
I dont think anyone has a right to start demanding cash or writing contracts on something that could be a great advert for you.
As for the album title , Personally , some of you might not like , but i think a title and then a subheader discribing (with swampers permission) that its a collective from the TA website sounds good to me.
Ive listened to all the stuff posted and i think this is gonna be special.Sort of a 2 fingers to the monotony of the current Trance/Edm scene and just hope this doesnt fall into the same trap as the rest of the industry has , with money and contracts and all.
Keep it free , make it widely available and safeguard it against plagarism. |

Well said Adi and I agree with everything you've said. I think it WOULD be good to be able to use the TA name with permission too.
I'm kind of in contact with TranceFM but obviously without a finished product we'll get little to no interest from anybody, which is fair enough!
The deadline of the 25th for track submission should be just that, a date where all the tracks are in and finished. There's many a detail to sort out after that date, but one thing at a time!
I'm not convinced there will be an albums worth of ambient stuff so I'd like to suggest rolling that album over to a later date. There's too much good material to be put on it to let it die I think. In fact if Owsey could stretch his entry out to 75 minutes i'd happily listen to that for a whole album :stongue: |

Oh hi there
Yeah I'll do the album cover if you guys want.. I asked Trancelover what guidelines I should go by but it should probably be a collective thing rather than dumping it on him -- what kind of album cover do you guys think you'd want?
I need at least a title before I start anything so I'm going to ask for that first. Stuff like color schemes or overall theme I feel comfortable enough just doing on my own.
Just as reference here's an album cover I'm doing for a friend, he makes jazzy electronica with live piano so it's not exactly a trance-themed cover, but it gives at least an idea of my skill level:
So, anyone and everyone, just throw out some ideas, maybe even some cool looking album covers you think might inspire me, I just need something to go off of. |

As for ideas I'm not sure, perhaps wait until the album is released, take a few ideas from those tracks. |
