Personally, I think a minimum of a month would be ideal. To allow time for some dedicated production time as well as other commitments contributors might have. |
Agreed |

Thank you very much Trancelover and Tehlord.
I agree with Acton. A month should give everybody enough time. |

| We can just do a mixed version and an unmixed version. If you are so dead set against having an unmixed comp, then whoever organizes the tracks can just leave your track out of the unmixed version and include it in the mixed one, if that's what you really want. |

lol the lack of responsibility in the crew here is really funny. isnt anyone going to take the job collecting tracks, setting dates, making artwork etc etc? im about to finish the tune i want to get in but still i want to see some better organized before sending anything in. i wont just post it here in this discussion. also can we decide on mixed or not soon? |
Don't take this the wrong way. Actually take it the way you want.
If you don't want to take part then don't.
Whatever you DO choose to do please make sure it includes stopping whining.
We're trying to organise a collection of tracks from mostly non professional artists from all over the planet and create an album of music that we all enjoy. There will be a few hurdles along the way.
There are twice as many people that have voted on compilation rather than mix. It also makes better sense as surely a compilation is easier to turn into a mix than the other way round. Decision made i'd say.
Thanks. |

Take your time, do not rush, we will have almost a month to finish our tracks. You see, this idea was born three day ago, so don’t be surprised that not so many things are really setup yet. I wish that my project planning at work would be fully finalized in three days, but I guess I’m not so sharp yet (after 20 years of experience). So if I can suggest, take some serious look at your track, make some final changes/adjustments and get it ready for small preview.
100% agree with tehlord.
Cheers. |

i'll step in here with some ideas
1. set up a soundcloud group where tracks can be uploaded & for other people to listen and vote --> (http://soundcloud.com/groups/tranceaddict-com-album)
2. other organizers contact me regarding moderation rights for the soundcloud group (to prevent irrelevant spam tracks)
3. set a due date after new years so people will have time to finish tracks and party plenty over the holidays say Mon January 11, 2010 11pm EST
4. choose format (i see compilation is leading the poll right now )
5. choose maximum run time per CD equivalent i say 75 min per cd max
6. choose maximum length per track (no nobody really wants to hear 2 minute intros and outro's ) say 7 minutes max you can submit longer but they will likely to be edited
7. tehlord edit you first post in the thread to include relevant bits of information regarding the project
what do you guys think ? |
