mmmm...ok, well...I think that last point is kind of bold, but I think most of the people on this board would go to Tabu on a normal top40s night for one reason alone- try to get laid/alcohol poisoning. Also, as noble a cause those are, I doubt Tabu is getting many TAs weekly. Everyone agrees: Awesome club. To get us out there, more EDM (not top-40s). Obviously you HAVE to have that for the college crowd, so no question of scrapping that, but you were right on with the bringing in acts and
IF you want to draw more people out from this board without laying massive coin for a big artist, a once in awhile fri or sat or even thursday could bring in a large TA contingent with a local DJ. As much as people are being pessimistic, I've got tons of PMs and comments on the petition for trying to have a night with a bunch of Djs who used to play at PR. Lest you forget people are missing the days of the Purple Room. Used to get pretty damn packed when, yes, local DJs played.
Keep bringing in the big names though. That will not hurt with getting TAs. I think the 2nd-4th years can sustain the Top40s nights. |

BTW, as for the petition, seriously, one thing to have a little fun with it, but people are being generous with their time to honestly sign and not post some pretty heavy racist (K one was just off the charts), offensive stuff.
We can start a new thread for impersonating well-known TAs and commenting on sexual fetishes and genital characteristics. Only then, you can post them under your TA profile.
Again, thanks for those showing genuine interest. The fact Tabu_nightclub is even posting means they realize that there are other people and if nothing else they will be further interested in getting Sander et al. |

The night progresses for example on Saturday;s
Starts very underground (10pm-10:45pm)
Very Top 40ish (10:45-12:15 but a little more housey for (example - If we are playing Black Eye Peas it's gonna be remixed by Laid back luke)
12:15-1:00ish - House mashups and remixs
1:00 - The house music starts - Hoping to build a night where we can stay open until 4am or even later if people support the night.
Tonight, Manzone & Strong take over in around the 1am time, should be an amazing night!
Lastnight was AVICII at 1am. |

The lasers and lighting rig are definitively...serious.
perfect for...oh...say...exactly the types of music everyone on this board likes.
BTW, Tabu, did you guys turn off the back speakers for Glenn Morrison or do they just not exist? It seemed like it was pretty much only coming from the front. |

Dynacord setup the front loaded system without fillers, due to exactly what we were looking for. Dance floor and bar mingling separation.
Front loaded system is intense.

We EQ'd to do exactly as we wanted. It was pretty pumping when Glenn came on

Fair enough, that's pretty true actually, although I'd say it stays more on the Laidback luke mashup side pretty much all the way through. nothing really edgy. people on this board are picky picky picky (rightfully so) and I've never heard it go very deep into any of the EDM genres, but if you did I'm guessing it would be house/progressive house.
Add in some nights where you go more techy or trancey (example: Glenn played Cass & Slide - perception and Xpander! and it was very well received...oh and Jochen Miller - Red One) and you would have a club where if you are open until 4, you will get a very big turnout from people in the area IMO. |

and if u really wanna improve the scene... then i recommend you take a minute or two and look through the post called "what djs you wanna see in canada" will provide you with a little more "insight" on what we expect :) |
