The people go because they want to get drunk and party.....welcome to university life. They could care less about who is DJing and what music is being played. As long as there is music for the girls to dance to and alcohol for the guys to build courage to talk to the girls, the club will continue to do fine....until then next new club is built in town. That is the KW scene. |
+1
also dont forget that the girls are 100% stuck up. i have toke both sex's with me to guv/vola/good ol docks... all my guys loved it over KW scene, due to the fact the girls are just o so much friendlier. girls on the other hand said something along the lines of "i dont like guv because i am not the hottest girl in there" :haha: |

I don't think he was trying to be mean, just trying to point out how contradicting and ironic your post is. The levels of booth whoring in Toronto clubs is on a bigger scale than the Rev
See, if he wanted to be an ass he would have said,
"That's funny, considering you contribute at least 80% of the booth whoring in the scene."
;) |

I think I am done in this thread. It is not $40 to go to Tabu, cover is $7.00 for the likes of Manzone and Strong, $25 for Benny Benassi.
Split gas, parking fees, find a DD, pay higher drink prices and go see the likes of the above mentioned for the same or more money.
KW always has always been the newest club is the best, when we built 140 WEST we raised the bar and no one has ever even come close to matching the likes of 140 in Waterloo, now there is Tabu... If you're been and only if you're been you might agree that NOONE for a very long time will invest the money needed to bring what we brought to Waterloo.
World famous artists are shocked and amazed by our setup and you would be to if you gave Tabu a chance.
BTW, starting Feb 20th.... we are keep the doors open till 3:30 and the bar till 4am.... we are changing the seen, maybe some of you are to negative to look at ALL the positive Tabu is doing.
I wish I could mention the likes of who is playing in the coming months at Tabu, but I can't....
ITS GONNA BE NUTS!
I will be on time to time, but I think there is to many negative people in this thread.

Are you in' kidding me? If you're actually looking to create an EDM scene in K-dub then this is your market, right here... these are the people that you need to build a bass on. We're the ones that are already fans, we're the ones that you need to win over, we're the ones that will create the buzz, and we're the ones that are telling you what you need to do in order to create the scene you're looking for rather then just being another club that comes and goes in that exact same location. , there have been what 5 different clubs in that spot since Yuk Yuks moved out and not a one of them has been any different then Loose Change Louies with the exception of some decor changes. If you want to avoid being just another club to come and go in that spot then you need to listen as opposed to just dismissing us as negative. I know the money is rolling through the door pretty heavy right now... it has for every single club that has occupied that space; however, this has all to do with you or your club; rather, it is entirely because you happen to sit in the middle of the student ghetto and all the students can easily stumble home after last call. Unfortunately, come May when all the kiddies go home you're left with just us to keep you in business until September. Why do you think clubs keep failling there? It's because they're just the same as every other club in K-Dub so their only advantage is the students, which creates a very unbalanced cash-flow and eventually that's going to kill you just like it did every other club that used to occupy that space. Dismiss us as negative at your own peril; however, we've been the scene in K-W for a very very long time and we've watched many clubs come and go; mark my words - you will be no different. |

People will always be jealous Peter, they don't understand this weird thing called friends...but you clearly do
let's continue with the real topic
In all honestly I really hope that Tabu does well, cuz it really is a hastle to go to Toronto sometimes... Would love to see this place actually work...save me a lot of money, since my car does kill me on gas... |

I don't think Tabu's target audience is the people on this board. Their target audience is the university crowd...just like every other club that has been at that location. Its the easy audience to target because you know you will make money with that audience.
That's why all the clubs there fail. They need to change the target audience to find 400-600 people that will show up every Friday and Saturday in the summer. The university crowd will be there every school year simply because its a prime location.
Regardless, none of this changes the fact that KW doesn't support an EDM Scene.
Can anyone here suggest something new that might help grow a scene in KW? |
