If anyone wants a serious discussion on all the middle east bull, there's the political forum.... everyone can unleash all their there, cuz no one will ever meet anyone.
But This is TOTA... most of us know each other in person... and the tiest way to up TA personal relationships is starting threads like this.
So let's bury the middle eastern threads on TA for good, because all they do is make good people on each other. |

I just thought I'd bring something interesting to people's attention since most guys don't really go into the PDD pages. Didn't mean to be an inadvertent disturber :p
There have been some really good view points expressed in here. I'll just be more mindful next time. |

Ive always wanted to meet you in person, apparently we have but you abstained from reviling your true identity to me. I would love to figure out where your ideologies stem from, or maybe learn what kind of life experience you may have had to further aid in the understanding of your thought sequencing. |
I could swear I remember meeting you in Detroit, last year, and we introduced ourselves. Am I thinking of someone else?
| quote: | | I am truly with you Digi, I want to fix the problem, only if you care to fix it. I am unsure of your intentions but I cannot see how a seemingly reasonable individual can be swayed so far away from a reasonable reality. |
Not too sure what you're getting at or what you perceive this problem to be, but if you genuinely want a serious one-on-one debate then claiming that I'm "so far away from a reasonable reality" is getting off to a pretty bad start.
One thing I definitely agree with is that attempting to carry on any sort of a serious debate on tranceaddict is generally a waste of time. But as for the rest of what you've written, it doesn't really sound like you're seriously interested in hearing (or maybe I should say, listening to) what anybody else has to say. If you were, then you wouldn't be using phrases like destructive societal ideologies or still in lalaland.
Quite frankly, I'm stumped as to why you'd even post a message like this as opposed to just sending a PM, since it has the outward appearance of being directed toward me and only me. Could it be that you want to appear publicly as the good guy, dressing up the same old veiled insults with vague pronouncements of cognitive and moral relativism and overtures of mutual cooperation?
Or do you genuinely view this post of yours as an olive branch, and not see anything sanctimonious or condescending about it?
If you want to have a dialogue, mano-a-mano, fine. You can start by cutting the crap, treating me and all of these other fearmongerers as equals, saving the flowery prose about free thinking for the poli sci students, and posting private messages in private rather than as public pronouncements. |

we should exactly the opposite. burying the problem in reviews, picture threads and threads about nick t wont make it go away.
theres a hookah night, trance night, wings night and so on. why dont we have a serious political discussion night once in a while??? its obvious that there's plenty of people who are more interested in this subject and everybody has its own story to say.
its easy putting down somebody online but its a totally different thing doing it in somebody's face. and who knows, maybe one of us changes the world for better !!
good to see you back anas !! |

Yes that was a message to you, but it has to be made in public, primarily in the thread where this discussion is prevalent. This has very much to do with what the conversation in this thread is about as I find you to be the primary objector to many humanitarian causes I happen to find important. These human made moralities are constantly being moved aside for what appears to be lesser action. This is often the result of our inability to change the situation, but it is infact the issues we do have control of that I am interested in.
I'm interested in your arguments as they mimic arguments made by intellectuals around the world, mind you most predominantly in western societies and in most European democracies. These intellectuals usually come from what could be regarded as a fine background of education. These intellectual types often have a significant influence on those around them, as they should. The intellectuals and general public are two distinctly different types of people, who have different views and opinions in this matter. By this matter, I am referring to the implementation and consequences of American and often Israeli policies. And I'm speaking to you because I find you to be an influence to the community around you, if I did not find you to be an influence, believe me I have better things to do.
I try to be honest with what I say and type and as you can see I have my real name displayed predominately, and have no reason to incite any unneeded hostility. If there was anything condescending about my post I do rightfully apologise, but simply making the statement that I find your arguments unreasonable should not irritate you and get in the way of an attempt to connect with someone who does not share your view. I write to the point in hopes of reducing wasted time and I say what I want to say without prejudice.
Next, I must address your most current comment and reveal to you how you have already knowingly or not placed words in my mouth, and other notions.

I understand your basically referring to me as your opposition in the argument, but the added "vield insults" and the dramatic generalisation of my entire argument does not help. If you truly want to prove your arguments, we must be respectful of each other.

When did I ever call you or anyone else a fearmonger? I also fail to see how I am treating you or anyone unequally?
In addition, you have knowingly or not helped in tainting my future arguments by stating that my post had sanctimonious objectives. I actually didn't know what sanctimonious meant so I looked it up (http://dictionary.com/):
1. making a hypocritical show of religious devotion, piety, righteousness, etc.: They resented his sanctimonious comments on immorality in America.
2. Obsolete. holy; sacred.
I make absolutely no claims of the sorts, the only claims I have made revolve around simple human rights policies.

Appear to who exactly? Why would I care about anyone elses perception of me? I don't give a flying hoot what anyone thinks about me, in fact I find that notion repulsive.

If I was not serious about it, why would I be here? Why would I ask you to discuss it with me if i didn't want to discuss it with you? In fact I proposed to discuss it in depth preferably via a live element.
Unfortunately I find myself defending my person once again, I really don't want this to be about me and you so much as it is about our arguments. There is always that final question of how important do each of us find this matter, is it worth the hassle of getting together one way or the next and talking about it? To me, most definitely because I truly want to learn learn/see your perceptive. hell, it will even be on me. If not that's fine by me too, but an opportunity would have been lost.
As for Detroit, we did meet, you had refrained from identifying yourself apparently, I do not have an account of our meeting as I still do not know you unfortunately.
