| Looks like Facebook caved to pressure and pulled the main page, along with several other groups in support. I noticed all of the "Anti Draw Mohammed Day" sites are still up though, with calls for Jews and Americans to be exterminated in tact on their walls. Evidently that's not bad enough to justify taking them down..but a few rude cartoons were enough for the other group. |

In that case, the world needs way more losers.
You see, Fayraree, I'm all for tolerance. I believe we need to understand we're together in this world and there's nothing we can do but accept the fact that we must coexist in peace if we're to pursue happiness - or a tolerable life, as I'm not sure happiness can be achieved anyway. However, we need to put people over ideas, and the best way to remind ourselves that it is humans, and not vain thoughts, that matter is to scorn whatever it is that we may hold a wee bit too sacred.
In this case, no religion should be protected from scorn. No ideology should be taken too seriously. No idea should be taken for granted, lest we kill one another because we believe our hobbyhorse is the ultimate truth. |
