okay, just so i can say it once so all the ignorant people can finally become informed and spread the word to your ignorant circles...
Prophets are followed as exemplary citizens who received a message from God and pass the good word along to humanity. They embody the teachings and principles better than anyone else can and that's why people should aspire to practice the religion in the manner that the Prophet did, but all worship, prayers, etc. are directed to God, who is a different entity. I hope that's clear enough. And of course, some parts are open to debate like the whole pedophiliac thing, etc., but that's the general point, and why it's wrong to say he's a God. |
Point taken. But seriously, even if he's a prophet, what's the sense in getting all pissed off over some goofy pictures? Last time I checked, nobody had to remove those "Jesus ing Christ" pictures on the internet due to butthurt Christians. Same should go with Muslims. |

no, you idiot, he's not a God!!! He's a Prophet, like Moses. I'm not getting into the Jesus debate right now...:o |

dude please don't make me start...i have a major deliverable today :(
Jesus was a normal, averge dude just like Muhammad and Moses, but they were selected to be Prophets.
These image of these sacred figures are not supposed be replicated, out of respect, and actual conservative (not extremist) Muslims won't have their picture taken due to this principle, except for the most extreme circumstance like government documentation and only when it's absolutely mandatory like foreign travel; but domestically many don't even have pictures on their licenses, because the whole country follows these traditional rules. (I'm talking about Saudi Arabia). |

This is interesting article that was actually written just recently by a professor of Islamic Studies over at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill that makes a case for the permissibility of images of the Prophet Muhammad, which also interacts with some of the questions Nrg is asking.
A quick excerpt:
| quote: | When the Danish cartoon controversies broke out in 2005, many pundits--and some Muslims--stated that Muslims were offended because Muslims have never physically depicted the Prophet.
That is actually not the case, and marks yet another example of what is at worst an acute sense of religious amnesia, and at best a distortion of the actual history of Islamic practices: Over the last thousand years, Muslims in India, Afghanistan, Iran, Central Asia and Turkey did have a rich courtly tradition of depicting the various prophets, including Prophet Muhammad, in miniatures. |
Why Islam does (not) ban images of the Prophet
Naturally, this doesn't reflect the position of all Muslims, but it is certainly worth considering as an alternative perspective on these related matters. |

I'm just questioning that guy's intentions. Does he like the sound of the prayer call, and that's why he dubbed it in? Is he making an argument that according to historical evidence, and his studies in the subject, that the prophet is gay? No. He's just being offensive for the sake of it; at least that's my read.
And you posted that pic because you're pissed off? So to let out some form of vengeance and anger? That's exactly the kind of freedom that democracy is all about. Yeah, ok buddy.
Go suck a dick you fag. |
You werent questioning his intentions, you were judging him, claiming that what he did is somehow disgusting and is on par with scat videos that weird germans jerk off to. And even if he did what he did just to be offensive my point still stands. Art can be offensive and still be art! And let me say again that you dont forget, he had a right to do what he did, those people had a right to voice their objection but they did not have a right to hurt him for it! When the police have to get involved to protect his life thats going way beyond what they have the right to do. For people who proclaim that they are peaceful, they are pretty ing violent.
And i wrote the text because im pissed off, and i used lots of profanities in it because im pissed off,I posted that pic because i can and because i am offended that by posting a picture is enough for a certain group of people to think that they have a right, no, not a right a duty to kill me. Granted a simple pic of mohammed would be enough for that, but the fact that it was a pic of him and his lovely young wife just adds a bit more to it.
Alsoi tend to point and laugh at people that at this day and age still think that calling someone gay is somehow offensive. I laugh at you and your bigotry. I woudnt have bothered calling it that if you just called me a fag and told me to go suck some cock, but you also said that the homosexual imagery in that guys video was disgusting so now i am.
Also this is just an off comment. But we have places today for people that laim that they are recieving messages from god. They are called mental institutions. That is where we keep our prophets today. |
