| Did you tell them you will eventually die someday, so they don't need to bother? |

| No Lira. I'm not going to die. I will live forever (because I actually want to find a cure to death...it is the leading causes of death you know). |

The Everybody Draw Mohammad Day got removed. I hijacked the Everybody Against Drawing Mohammad day page for about 15 minutes, threatened to butt rape every mussie that is against homosexuality then I tired myself out.
I forgot how tiring it feels to scream at religious people. The hardcore Christians still want gays to die, and so do the Muslims. Nothing is new. |
yea there is.. im pretty sure the jews want them to die too. |

Oh. So you're going to be like Highlander and go around sporting a beard and wearing a skirt?
That's so gay! |

lol thanks. The problem lies in the majority really. No one is differentiating between the extremists and the regulars, and the thing that s all over us is that the extremists have the louder voice. All the normal Muslims are just turning their cheek, if you will, and waiting for this to all sort itself out. Stupid non-confrontational s :p |
they just need to suck it up bas. No one is burning down mosques or stoning muslims. Although this obviously going to encourage mockery and prejudice towards the religion to the average joe, the best thing mulsims can do is deal with the matter in a civilized manner and educate people with proper interpretation of the religion. Until they can do this, they deserved to be ridiculed.
Unfortunatley again though, is that this will definatley lead to more terrorist attacks by fundamentalists which will cast a shadow on the whole religious group, even those who aren't particularily religious.
Personally, ive distanced myself from the muslim community because the religion (like any other religion) is ridiculous, and it pains me to see people try to interpret fairy tales. |

The ultra orthodox in Jerusalem do. But that's less than 1% of the entire Jew population in the world. |

if you think that only 1% of the entire jewish population is agaisnt gay jews you are seriously delusional. The jewish religion is just about as tolerant as the muslim religion. I think its about time you've come out of your religious closet and hate all religons equally :p |

In that case, the world needs way more losers.
You see, Fayraree, I'm all for tolerance. I believe we need to understand we're together in this world and there's nothing we can do but accept the fact that we must coexist in peace if we're to pursue happiness - or a tolerable life, as I'm not sure happiness can be achieved anyway. However, we need to put people over ideas, and the best way to remind ourselves that it is humans, and not vain thoughts, that matter is to scorn whatever it is that we may hold a wee bit too sacred.
In this case, no religion should be protected from scorn. No ideology should be taken too seriously. No idea should be taken for granted, lest we kill one another because we believe our hobbyhorse is the ultimate truth. |
You guys are ing tools. When I read these posts I thought you totally missed the point...

No one is making fun of Muslims for the sake of it (if someone is doing that, they deserve to be reprehended). |
...and then you proved it. this day has been ALL ABOUT making of fun of a concept purely for the sake of s and giggles. no principle or superordinate value has been proven by these shenanigans. I admit, I also laughed at a few of the wittier ones, but most of this was utter garbage just to give that ugly bigot racist part of our brains we normally keep repressed in public a big fat hairy voice and unleash it on strangers. this has been completely inappropriate. does it offend me personally? of course not. I've become accustomed to bull thanks to you fine s, but as a general movement like it was today--absolutely not cool. and to see you guys promoting it for the wrong reasons, especially this disturber capitalist or whatever, gets my panties in a bunch.
I was talking to my wife about this; if there was some major benefit to this, like some marginal utility increased for the world, then I'd be all for it. but no one's freedom was being limited. this stuff is borderline, if not crossing the line, hate crime, and I think it should be run through the proportionality test in the Canadian Supreme Court and whatever the equivalent is in the US Supreme Court and all these s with their big balls should be sued. |

ps. just to clarify, when I said "make fun of things" I didn't mean just find the lighter side of bad situations, which is important; I'm referring to making fun for the sake of it. Even making fun of people is okay if it's justifiable by "normal" standards, not COR standards, lol.
and I'm just telling him to cut himself because that's what emo pricks like him do, but survive so he can cut himself again another day! :gsmile:
oh, pps. one MORE thing...I wanted to add more detail in my reference to "strangers" above...we on the COR pretty much know what each of us is about; we've been ing with eachother for years. sometimes people still take things seriously and that's fun too, because it's a small community and people know what to expect. rinse, cycle, repeat. and when it comes to your friends "in real life" they know you too and there are no hidden agendas or intentions, making good ol' fashioned racism or other disgusting, tasteless humour totally appropriate. but when you go off offending other people that didn't do anything to you personally, and you're jumping on the bandwagon of offense, it's just morally reprehensible in my opinion.
Nevermind the stupid extremists and terrorists that cause all the negative sentiment; but all that happened yesterday was that people were able to have an outlet for all that fear and hatred that has been building since 9/11. that's it. nothing more. I understand bas completely, even if he's a fag.

Not necessarily. I found the reaction of many muslims to prove how retarded many of their faith are.

whats the problem with the general protestation from many people who are sick and tired of being threatened by islamists? Whats wrong with giving the middle digit to a faith many people find despicable (if only sometimes or in certain situations?)
you know what’s “not cool”? Putting your women in garbage bags or beating them or preventing them from access to the public sphere. But oh no, that’s given tacit support by many. But, insult the religion, that’s going too far? When did we return to the dark ages?

How is drawing a picture of mohammed, “crossing the line”? since when should we have our rights dictated by a bunch of fundamentalist s? |
