Personally i find it comical and funny as i am not very relgious, but at the same time i can sort of see why the people reacted as they did.

Its like teaching or showing evolution to evangelical catholics.

just think about it..

how would you feel if you walked into a presentation about gay jews (only knowing that it was about gay jews) to find out that it was simply a shock film about nazi's rounding up gay jews and executing them.

Obviously you would take some sort of offense to that as it directly relates to you.

This is what is happening here, and i am surprised that you're shocked about it.

Ahhh yes a normal reaction then of a religious person toward ridicule of their religion. That explains those two buddhists i heard about that went ape and started killing random because south park showed buddha doing coke. Oh, wait...

Bottom line thats not how a normal person reacts. Theres something about these desert religions that bring out the worst in people.

Also, those people dont look like they came there for the lecture but for the exact purpose to get insulted and start up a scene...which they did, so i guess they at least got what they wanted out of their day.

perhaps the clause

"an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth"

this would summarize the entire israel palestinian controversy.

I'm not saying that its normal, but i don't see why anyone would be shocked by their reaction at the same time. (religious people aren't normal if they can't open their eyes and see beyond the fairy tales that they are fed).

Maybe it's because I've never felt so passionate about something so unsubstantiated, but they act like ing children. They want it their way only or no one gets to benefit. I just want to show this stuff to the entire world so they can see the entire world thinks their overreactions are a joke, analogous to a 4 year-old who refuses to eat his vegetables but wants some ing ice cream right the now or everyone dies!

:haha:

I completely agree. But isn't all religion unsubstantiated?
The problem here is that a direct doctrine is being violated and mocked publically which is offending people. This is now their reaction. Christians will turn the other cheek (as their book procalims), jews will cry antisemitism (and everyone sympathizes for them because of the hollocaust) and muslims run around like baboons screaming allah akbar, and at times blowing themselves up, to get their point across.

Its not rocket science lol.

Some people started sending me letters on FB from the Anti-Draw Muhammed Day crap http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1346592966#!/pages/AGAINST-Everybody-Draw-Mohammad-Day-May-20th2010/113324458709791

We love all the previous Messengers of Allah..we do not ridicule any of them..because they are also sent from Allah.
I would request you all to just read a brief autobiography of the Prophet Mohammad who preached nothing but social equality.love..family life...daily affairs. and all that creates love and harmony between people...why not to cherish such a person who guided all to peace.

I am thinking of sending something "special" in return

and wtf where is 4chan on this?

The way to deal with israel/palestine is to turn that whole place into one giant sheet of glass. Make sure to get the people out beforehand of course (or not, not that i really care) but deal with them as with bickering children, unable to share a toy between them. If they both cant play nice with it, you ont buy them another one, you dont give it to one and the other one can go sulk in a corner, no, you take it away from both of them and teach them a lesson. No sense in figting over a patch of land (a desert even) if theres no land there anymore to fight over.

The thing is, it may be just me but since ive been old enough to care about paying attention religious extremism seems to be on the rise and thats a bad thing for the moderates who i generally have no problem with (those weren't moderates making a mess at that lecture, they were probably somewhere else doing everyday stuff like cooking dinner or shopping or whatever normal people do at any time of day) and those that are completely void of any religious belief. The fact that nobody is really shocked about the reaction is troubling in itself, have we really let things go so far that such violent outburst are the norm, even expected when the cultures clash and is there anything we can do about it? I dont know, but what i know, or at least feel that i know as much as any one can possibly know is that unless we do something things are going to deteriorate even further, and while pushing back hard with provocative material might not be the right way to go at things, i seriously doubt that trying to reason with the extreme will work any better if at all.

Except is not a violation...at least not technically. Yes, muslims cant show the prophet, but to everyone else he's fair game. Not saying that this gives the green light to make blatantly offensive images depicting muhammed but unlike them, we are not bound by muslim doctrine so we are free to do so, or not we have the choice. The sooner they realise that the rest of the world is not bound by muslim law the sooner we can start dealing with the issue with talk rather than high grade explosives. And while i wont see it in my lifetime i like to think that somewhere down the line, if we dont destroy each other completely by then we might actually leave the primitive concept of religion behind.

Just watched the vid for a second time and i cant help but think that sometimes...police brutality is ok. In the good old days if this happened here, the police would round up the loudest and rudest instigators and took them for a ride round the block a few times during which the policar car would hit quite a few bumps in the road causing the passengers to be severely bruised all over. Either that or taking them to chill out for a few days in a nice cell.

Also that girl in the rainbow sweater should get punched in the face. hard. She just has something aabout her that makes me want to wish violence upon her.
