It's not really romantic, but such is life. Oh, you can also try to do like those New Age Hindu guys that claim to live off sunlight! They all have nice tans

But skin cancer runs in my family.

I wish, i just look at a burger and i get fatter :( But as with everything one should know how his or hers body reacts to food. I have simply adopted a lifestyle that leaves me in relatively good shape based on my metabolism. Nothing as annoying than going out for pizza with a friend whos 20 cm shorter than you and weighs about as much as a feather but can eat a large pizza + anything that you leave behind and drink a couple of beers with that then just sleeps it off while you know you have an intense workout in front of you if you still want your pants to fit the next day :whip:

PS
I actually dont really like meat all that much and will only eat it a couple of times a month when i get the craving for it, but that doesnt mean that the vegetarian extremists who think they are oh so much better than me dont annoy me when they go on and on about their "superior" lifestyle choice.

I always find this interesting. I've met a few vegetarians/vegans who are like this (they usually are the ones who stop fairly quickly), but for the most part they don't bother. Other meat eaters I've talked to have explained this and it seems a lot of the time someone just saying that they're vegetarian/vegan or answering questions about it will spark that sort of reaction. At what point do you consider it annoying?

I think I'm in the mood for some fried chicken tonight, dunked in sauce. Yes, yes that sounds glorious.

I agree with Lira.
You're alive, therefore you eat...what's that, organic substances and plants. Murderer. :o

fughawzi you sound familiar.. are you Frenchie by any chance?

Gross. :o

My bf and I argue constantly about his food choices. He won't eat chicken or fish unless it's fried and drenched in disgusting sauces, what a calamity, and then he complains about feeling his arteries clogged and his heart hurts.

Pretty much all extremists annoy me, especially if they're condescending. It's too bad their passion for their cause doesn't allow them to see that their actions make people want to work against them.

I think these reads are interesting:

Activists should put more effort into reducing suffering before they run their mouths over what is getting killed or why it's wrong to kill it. At the very least, if people want to out themselves as an ethical vegan, draw a line somewhere and have some legit reasons to back it up.

It is worth noting even herbivores inadvertently consume living, non-plant life (insects, small invertebrates). Things are going to die during planting and harvesting, and this is the way things will stay until we get space age vat food.

I'm happy being a plant murderer. If kale wasn't meant to be eaten, it wouldn't be so delicious.

I have no idea who Frenchie is.

Also, I am so exhausted that I apparently almost started a new thread instead of responding here so pasting:

Okay so, I've had maybe seven hours of sleep in the last seventy two or so and I'm confused/making weird jokes. I just wanted to say that I was only stating why I'm vegan, not making judgments on other people. I have no idea if it came across that way because I don't understand social cues, but yes. It was more of a post just stating how I see this.

Lira, I am in a very literal mindset currently and can't tell if you thought I was being serious but that was a joke. God, lack of sleep and spectrum tendencies make humans confusing. I do realize that I'm going to kill things, that was my point. It's about limiting (for me). I don't know if I'm just completely failing at explaining myself today?

God damn that looks good, you can probably cut it with a spoon.

The main thing I don't think I could give up about eating meat is all the rubs you can grill with. Holy . Try that with veggies, it's just not the same.

They're completely different things. Obviously. :p

However, veggies can soak in different marinades or you could do a rub on some stuff like Zucchini, Squash and Eggplant. One of my favorite things to do is marinate some portabello mushrooms in a bag with worcestershire sauce, balsalmic vinegar, garlic, a splash of beer, and some fresh ground pepper, and throw them on the grill. Totally awesome, and nutritious indeed!

Edit: I forgot to include that these are the giant caps, not the little button baby bellas or whatever. They're eaten as burgers, in between whole wheat buns with all the fixings :)

Yeah but that's boring and dull and stupid. You're stupid!
