I know it does, but most people do not have a thyroid problem. Most people do not have any problem. I don't know how anyone can look at the statistics for obesity and then convince themselves they are some medical exception to the rule without ever getting a confirmation from a doctor that they have one of these "invisible illnesses".

Do you happen to be on medication? For anything? Don't second guess the question, just a straight answer will be fine.

Yes, I actually have Hashimoto's thyroiditis and am on Synthroid.(Thank you for adding the last sentence, I like when things are clear)

All my other anger in this thread has had nothing to do with meat or vegetarians or vegans. It has to do with fat people unable to take responsibility. And, as I've already made clear, my reason for that anger is because I've been attacked or criticised by these people all my ing life for having a healthy bodyweight. My housemates do it to me. My BMI and body fat numbers are fine, but they say "You can't be a healthy weight". I had it from a guy at my last job, who made endless jibes about how skinny I was. The only reason I originally started lifting weights was to get rid of these comments, but that actually seems to have made things worse. The healthier you are, the more bitter their comments.

You can blather about "invisible diseases" all you want, but I know these people, I see what they eat, how much they eat and how little exercise they do. And no matter what the obvious problems are, their logic is always, invariably the same. There are stock phrases that simply make my hackles rise.

Do people honestly claim that their thyroid is the issue when they don't have a thyroid disorder? I've been wondering why people have been using that when saying that fat people are irresponsible.

Body hate of any kind is horrible and I'm sorry you get that. I can understand how frustrating it is. I don't get the bitterness towards fat or thin people. Not everyone who is thin is starving themselves and not everyone who is fat is an unhealthy slob.

I have many illnesses that would be considered invisible and I have to constantly deal with comments as well, hence my reaction. I get upset when people use thyroid in the context you did because I do have autoimmune diseases that make it hard for me to have any control over my body. I work out four to five times a week and eat the healthiest diet imaginable, but could not lose a pound until I went back on the proper dosage of Synthroid. It's frustrating as .

I'm slowly coming to the conclusion that people who make comments about the health of others based on their bodies without any real knowledge about the person's habits need to be smacked over the head with a cast iron skillet.

Did you miss everything he said? It isn't about their bodies, it's about their inability to take responsibility for their health/life/diet choices.

No? I was just explaining why I reacted the way I did? He mentioned that he got so angry because of people constantly judging him about his body type, so I said I hate that and those people need to be hit over the head with a cast iron skillet?

What?

Fried rice for lunch...vegetables to rice ratio 2:1, no meat at all...absolutely delicious!

And to compensate for that weak meal im going to kick a puppy tomorrow. I figure its still not as awful as eating a steak since we all know eating meat is murder.
