What could be better than Villalobos?

Probably the worst party I've been to all year.
Felt like I was in an episode of Jersey Shore.
So much potential. More in the morning... |

| I paid $35 bucks for a ticket I didn't even ing use. The lineup was such a god damn show, I ended up pulling some crazy mission mad dash through some back entrance instead. |

Their system ing sucked. It was muddy as , and just outright terrible. I'm sure the funktion one is capable of much much more. |

This echoes exactly how I felt about the crowd. What a bunch of retards.
Oh and btw, I've been slamming Ricardo this whole time but Sneak, you suck too.
off with your god damn flash light.
Do us all a favour and keep your birthday in Chicago. |

Music got sooo much better at around 330/4ish (thank god). There was also so much more room to dance. The little 80s set was uncalled for but I'm a sucker for talk talk - it's my life :o Ricardo ended up playing till until 5 by himself because sneak was passed out in the booth :p
as noted, the sound system as well as the crowd was hella weak.
LOVED how he was rocking the vinyl! |

I thought the opening act and Sneak were great. The place was on fire from 11:30 to 2:30 AM - party bongo tunes, everybody was rockin' good! House, house, house - good, good, good. Those who arrived early enjoyed it.
Ricardo was good for 1h and then got distracted (by who knows what) and it went downhill. Disjointed, unplanned-feeling, odd-flow (other than 10-15 bursts). The end showed some potential and then again went off into the neither-regions of programming.
Fun night with friends made up for the musical mishaps towards the end of the night.
Sound system was pretty good. Not perfect - I think the DJs were driving the mixer too hard (red = bad). When it was clear, it was crystal (i.e. stand in front of bass/mid stack and have a convo without a problem).
Crowd was terrible. Douchebag City, USA. Not sure if the usual Friday night folks showed up by accident but wow! talk about tourists!
Maison has a ton of potential. I hope they book more parties there - we need a good alternative to the same-old venues. |
