It's also February. Sorry, but most people don't plan 6 months in advance to go to a party, unless it's over seas, not a 4 hour drive away. I bet that 75% of your sales are atleast at the $200-$250 mark.
$150/ticket max. Then you'll get yourself a much bigger showing.
You make people pay $250/ticket, I guarentee you you're losing out on atleast 200-500 people that won't show because of price alone. |

Not only that, but the fact the dj list and location hasnt been posted. Regardless how much fun I had in 08 I cant justify spending even $300 (two tickets) on it at the moment.
Also WEMF is very Jungle/D&B heavy, I would only be going for a few Techno/House djs anyways. Those acts would have to be mind blowing to justify $150+ per ticket |

Ya I guess those junglist are so desperate to party that they'll pay anything eh lol.
Toronto has been so spoiled in the trance/house/techno department, that we wouldn't pay those kind of prices. |

The only people paying $250 are those waiting until the very last minute. Tickets are $150 today and will be $175 after they sell out. If you compare these prices to any similar event you will see we are priced BELOW the market average. The closest example I can compare to is Shambala in BC which is starting at $260! Compare their past line-ups to WEMF and you will see the value you are getting here. I can also guarantee this year's WEMF is already the biggest and most expensive line-up we've ever had!
While we love the scene and love the music, putting on these events is expensive and time consuming, which is the reason we had to stop doing it in 2008. In fact the final 3 WEMF's running up to 2008 barely broke even or actually lost money so continuing to follow the same pricing policy was not feasible.
You need to understand that this is not Coachella or Ultra with 50,000 people!
We strongly believe we give GREAT value for money and would put our event up to a relative value comparison to any similar event in North America. If its not for you, I completely accept that but please try to get the facts right when you are critical.
Hope to see everyone out this year - its going to be EPIC!

PS. First 800 tickets sold in record time - only 200 left at $150!!! |

I wouldnt have that big of a problem buying $150 tickets if I knew:
1. the dj lineup
2. Location
3. If renegade stages are allowed
Once that information is released I would consider buying a pair. I had a blast in 08 and was easily one of the best times I have ever had. |

All in all if you don't agree with the prices or don't want to buy tickets before seeing the lineup/location/etc then just don't buy one. Nobody is forcing a gun to your head. The pre-sale tickets are for people who want to go regardless of the variables, if that's not you then just hold off there's really no benefit in trash talking.
If they release the lineup and it's garbage not worth the $$ then for sure, let it rip. |

Thanks for telling me I'm able to not buy one until the information has been released. I was worried I wouldn't get permission.

they're always allowed, no? |

| I know many people who'd rather know that they aren't allowed before buying a ticket. |

The short answer is yes... and no! We are moving away from the random and sometimes annoying nature of renegades of the past toward a more organized "Community Stage" model in which previously unregulated renegades will need a permit from us to set up. Bottom line is that we want to ensure people get the widest variety of music possible but also have some sort of control over where and when they play. Our goal will be to create a "quiet zone" for those who want it and a music zone for those wanting to be part of the community stage areas.

IMPORTANT WEMF2011 TICKET ANNOUNCEMENT
Due to technical problems with a system upgrade at our online ticket retailer, Wanttickets.com, the sale of WEMF2011 tickets was halted for 24hours. The system is now back online and the WEMF2011 ticket retail portal is operational.
As a result of the shutdown, some of the first block of WEMF2011 tickets remain unsold! We encourage those that have not yet picked up their $150 level tickets to check the site ASAP! Close to 800 of the first 1000 tickets were sold prior to the shut-down. The final 200 first level tickets won’t last long!
