Yes, but apparently it was an unrealistically low considering all the costs involved to prepare and carry on this event..
The ppl doing this shouldnt be expected to do this at a loss or at a very marginal profit. |

For $150-200 a ticket you are getting 3 days of electronic music, a place to stay and are allowed to bring your own alcohol and party favours. That doesn't sound so bad to me.
I attend DEMF in Detroit every year and luckily I live in Windsor so I don't have to worry about a place to stay but realistically most people from out of town spend a couple of hundreds of dollars. A three day pass for pre-sale right now is already at $60 (it used to be free to attend) and it's not until the end of May. Hotels for 2-3 nights are $300+, booze is expensive (approximately $8-10 a drink) since they figure not many people are drinking and its in the USA so if you are crossing the boarder there a great chance you're getting pulled in and trust me you don't want to deal with the s at the US boarder. So rough figure with gas, food, etc there is at least $500-600.
Don't get my wrong though, it's my favourite festival to attend and I haven't missed it in the past 5 years, but like I mentioned earlier, I have the benefit of living locally so my expenses are cut down.
But I do understand since I myself couldn't agree to spending $150 without knowing even a location let alone what kind of talent to expect but maybe that's also because I have never had the pleasure of attending one of these events in the past. |
You cant compare the DEMF lineup to any past WEMF, especially if you are into techno/house music. In 2008 the main stage was mostly D&B/Jungle dj's so if you're into that style of music its great. The ONLY reason I went to the last one was for the renegade stages (bound by sound) other than that I wouldnt have gone. |

one of the main stages was dnb/jungle. the other stage was all 4/4 music |

true I have been to movement since 08 and 06 was the with pretty lights and Bassnectar kills it. But Bassnectar's shows sell out all the time so it is hard to catch him |

Heeey everyone
been lurking around and figured I would post for once :)
It's a pretty crazy thought to be excited for wemf already in march!
The way I see it is that there is no use debating the costs with people , if people think the cost is too much .. let them wait until the lineup comes out and the missed out on the cheaper tickets .. they will be kicking themselves, right ?
That being said .. if you need tickets then email me and i will hook you up without service fee's

oh and I noticed someone asked about saturday entry tickets ... they will be available in the spring :) |
