LMAO Lakers.

So am I the only one who thinks the Celtics are done for? It's like Danny Ainge traded away not only Kendrick Perkins, but their swag as well. OKC is absolutely ripping everyone a new hole since the trade and the Celtics are free-falling.

You're not the only one. As a lifelong Celts fan, I can tell you first hand that me and the vast majority of my brethren are still scratching our heads. What the was Danny Ainge thinking? Cool we got Jeff Green as another scoring and defense option so Paul Pierce doesn't get worn out... but at what cost? Perkins was the only dude who could D up Dwight Howard, Gasol, or any other big man without needing help. Now there is no swagger, no defensive thuggery in the paint... just some old washed up has-beens who can't run for 5 minutes without getting hurt, and a soft Euro (Krstic) who makes Kwame Brown look like Bill Russell. This was the C's last chance to win it all with their aging team, and Ainge flushed it down the toilet thinking he was making some bold strategic move.

From last night; this sums up how far the C's have fallen:

With the Celtics and the lowly Washington Wizards locked in a close game with three minutes left in overtime, Wafer took a pass from Carlos Arroyo on the perimeter and cut through the Washington defense for an open dunk. Except, instead of just putting it in like a normal person, Wafer decided it was time to score with style and tried to force the ball through the net with all his strength. It did not work, which Wafer didn't realize. So, like any champion, he decided to celebrate after the play. As Wafer congratulated himself, the ball bounced back out to Jermaine O'Neal near the block. Wafer, still not realizing he'd failed the dunk, turned to run back up the court and ran smack into O'Neal. Dazed by the blow, O'Neal fell away from the basket and dribbled as a reflex. This, of course, was a double-dribble, which gave the ball back to the Wizards. The Celtics went on to lose the game by one point, 95-94.

NBA basketball is boring as . It's the only sport where the college level is more entertaining to watch than the pros. I'd rather watch soccer and paint drying at the same time.

I would have agreed with this 10-15 years ago, but not today. College basketball is so watered down that nobody gives a until the tournament starts. The regular season gets lower ratings than women's lacrosse. The NBA is full of superstars right now, in all the big markets, and even regular season games (which were pure in the 90's) are big draws. You get 20 million people watching a Cleveland-Miami game or a Celtics-Lakers game in November now.

Well I still think it's boring :p And I agree about college basketball during the regular season. I guess I just don't really like basketball in general, but the NCAA tournament is always fun to watch. Can't wait for the like 5 months of NBA playoffs coming up

yeah it does kind of suck that they changed he opening round series' to all 7 games now... 1st round should have stayed at best of 5. Who wants to watch a 1 vs. 8 seed play a best of 7? Players legs are more likely to be gone by the finals.

I think College Basketball and NBA are on two completely separate levels of talent, so it's totally unfair to compare the two in terms of entertainment. College ball is filled with thousands of kids who want their shot at the big time, so they play with some of the highest amounts of drive and passion in any sport. They aren't all particularly talented, but they sure as hell play hard. Why do you think no number 1 seeds even made it into the Final Four this year? Absolutely anything can happen in a field of 64 teams.
It just so happens that in the professional leagues, these athletes are paid big money to play well, and they do a great job of that. The biggest difference is the way they play the game. You can be entertained by the college students scrambling on the floor on every possession, or you can be entertained by the sheer talent of the NBA players who can all create their own shot and score 100+ points per game. It all depends on what you fancy. I happen to like both :)

Yeah but I remember the days when the big college programs had 2 or 3 future NBA stars on their team, as opposed to now where you might get 1 or 2 per conference. Kids are 1 season and done more today than ever, so we get watered down crap as the product- which is why the Butlers and VCUs of the world advance so far in the tourney. Look at these 2 examples: Adam Morrison and JJ Reddick. Morrison was averaging 30 points per game, and Reddick almost the same. They get to the NBA and Morrison vanishes, while it takes Reddick 5 years to become a decently respectable player. Give me the old days of the real stars staying 3 and 4 years... not only will the regular season matter again, but the tournament would be way better to watch.
