My brother and I have argued this point to each other many times. He says Lebron isn't a killer, and I've never wanted to believe him, but it's certainly getting less and less apparent that he truly wants it. The playoffs are going to be his chance to prove all of us wrong.

It's hard to really standout as "the" guy on a team with two other perennial all-stars on their team though. I'm hoping that the Heat win it this year. I've liked Lebron since he came into the league, and I always thought it sucked that he was stuck in Cleveland for so long.

I think after so many years in Cleveland, he definitely wants a ring more than Kobe at this point. Just because he's not a selfish player (Kobe), doesn't mean he's not one of the most competitive players in the league.

I agree with that... I'm not saying he isn't competitive- he definitely is. But I still think Kobe wants it more. And I think Kobe was more selfish in his younger days than he is now. Not that there's anything wrong with that- I love seeing a player who demands he take the last shot. I think part of what makes Kobe great is the fact that he's a prick... seriously. Jordan didn't get along with a lot of his teammates either... he was a supreme that even punched Steve Kerr in the face during practice once. The great ones are truly prickly s who only care about winning. I do see Lebron getting there though... but time is running out. Zero rings and he's in his 8th year. Dude needs some rings! lol

He's in his 8th year but he's still only 26 :p Plenty of time. Plus he's a freak of nature. There isn't a player in the NBA who can guard him one on one.

yeah good point... he has 6-8 prime years left. imagine Lebron as a defensive end in the NFL... he would ing destroy people.

He's pretty much already the same body-type as Julius Peppers. He'd just need to gain about 20-30 lbs.

Boston is going to get busted up in their 2nd round series if they can even make it out of the first round. Old ass Shaq will be good for 15-20 minutes per game if he doesn't get hurt, and it seems like the rest of the team just doesn't have that confidence anymore. :(

I totally think it's a mental thing. Perk wasn't there for the first 2 match ups but those guys were still playing with the intensity of knowing he's with them. Now he's gone and they're all emo about it.

And to comment on your later post about Pierce being a prima donna on the court: I totally agree. I hate him. And I hate Rondo too. Rondo is probably my most hated player (other than Bargnani) in the NBA right now. How long before you guys turn on him, if he continues the bull he's been pulling the last half of the season?

You can say that about any of the elite players though. Is there anyone who can guard Kobe one on one? Or Dwight Howard? Or Rose for that matter? Lebron is a freak of nature, but keep in mind that just like Kobe he entered the league when he was 18 so there's already considerable mileage on those knees.

Ps. Although there's no real way of measuring who wants it more: Lebrons body language and demeanor the last 2 years isn't of someone who really wants to go out and win the championship.

What Rondo bull are you referring to? His attitude?

That's what I want to know. If Rondo's attitude is bad, then KG's is absolutely repulsive. I respect the out of Rondo, even if he's from UK. The Celtics need Rondo, he's one of the best guards in the league.

Giving up easy lay ups to pad his assist numbers, not driving to the basket when he's got a clear lane, and just generally playing like the last few months.

He was absolutely killing it in the first half of the season, and then turned into the biggest in the league. We all know he can't shoot but come on...lay ups aren't that hard.

edit: you can't even compare KG to Rondo. KG scores when he can. Rondo doesn't.

I would say Lebron could guard Kobe and Rose one on one, yeah. Probably Howard too, unless he's within 2 feet of the basket.

I don't believe that's what's going on at all... I honestly think Rondo is such a head case with his shooting, that his confidence shatters if he misses a couple shots. Especially when defenders leave him wide open from 15 feet on purpose... it's a great psychological tactic. lol they know if he misses an open jumper he'll be even quicker to pass up shots next time down the floor. So he flips the switch on way too quick and just says to himself, " it I know I can distribute... that's all I'm gonna do."
