Wall from his brief glimpses has been a sight to behold. Already ranking in a triple double in his first 15(?) games. He definitely has the speed to pass Derrick Rose who I think is if not the top, one of the top 2 point guards in the entire league right behind D-Will.
His main problem is he is becoming a china doll. Already with several injuries and some that didn't even require time off. If he is fully healthy and with a veteran presence near him, he can be a top 5 point guard. They have too young of a team for him to learn anything. Flip Saunders can only do so much.
But this doesn't mean anything when the REAL rookie of the year will be Blake Griffin's to lose. To say that kid is a beast is an understatement to say the least. Too bad he is on the friggin Clippers. |

cleveland! if the wizards changed their names back to the bullets i'd be fine with them staying, but the name wizards is just so damn gay, and their uber gay jerseys and logo. honest question, for those that have followed wall, is he even as good as they said he'd be, first pick and all? |
Absolutely. I watched him throttle my team, the University of Louisville, like he was born to do it. The kid is God's gift to basketball, and he really lives up to the hype. I think he has enormous potential to be a real player in the NBA.
I love Blake Griffin, watching that kid play is so refreshing. He's powerful, talented, and a basketball player through and through. He brings it on every play. And yes, it's too bad he plays for the ing Clippers, LA's red-headed step child that lives in the backyard. |

Amare Stoudemire is a man's man. I also think Raymond Felton is a great player, he's got good averages and plays hard. |

I'm certainly not opposed to contraction, but I'm not sure if the NBA is buying the idea. They might just be more interested in moving the teams to new markets. In baseball, the Tampa Bay Devil Rays are consistently winning and no one is there to see the games. That's sad and they might be gone soon. But anyway, back to basketball...
Let's see here - what I've liked about the Heat so far is their resilience. They were down 18 to Golden State last night and didn't panic. Let's not forget Golden State is offensively a very dangerous team. Any team that has Stephen Curry, Monta Ellis, and David Lee will be. That being said, they play about as much defense as the Knicks do. Although, at the very least, they did defend the Heat well during the 1st half last night. I really like Bosh's play, as of late. When Udonis comes back and Mike Miller gets back to playing shape, I like the Heat's depth.
Chicago? When Joakim comes back, the Bulls will be even scarier. That tandem of Boozer and Noah is not too shabby. And, Jesus, is it just me or is Derrick Rose getting better every day? If you need to score, in my opinion, there is no better scoring point guard in the league. No disrespect to Rajon, Deron, Russell, or Chris, but if I need a bucket, I'm going with Rose. All in all, the NBA is loaded with point guard talent. It's very cool. What the Bulls do need, however, is a shooting guard. Ronnie Brewer and Keith Bogans are not cutting it. They're in the market for one, and should get someone soon.
The Magic are offensively loaded, but time will tell on how many points they can limit the elite teams to. If under 100 or so, they're in good shape. Good to see Turkoglu playing well again, though. He was non-existent during his time in Toronto and Phoenix. It's clear Stan Van Gundy's system and him mesh well. My only concern is Turk, Arenas, and Jameer Nelson all need the ball to create. Too many mouths to feed? I'm sure they'll make it work. We know they can score, but defense will be the name of the game. They're in the market for a big man to back up Dwight right now. Otis Smith never stops moving.
The Celtics are the Celtics. They're banged up right now, but these guys have a ton of experience. The O'Neals are more injury-prone than a drunk 10 year-old, but if these two somehow manage to stay healthy, they take up a lot of space in the middle. Rondo has become the best disher in the league and he looks like he's not slowing down any time soon.
In the West, Gary Neal and Tyson Chandler have sparked the Spurs and Mavs, respectively - plus the play of their usual studs. No team wants to play them, that's for sure. Also, if it's not the NBA Finals. the Heat simply cannot beat the Mavs. That's worrisome. Oh yeah, and there's the Lakers. There's them. Well, you never discount the champions. Now that Bynum is healthy and starting again, let's see how they play. Something tells me they'll be alright. |

| Also, if Carmelo ends up going to the Knicks by the February trade deadline, things will get a lot more interesting. |

Boston is looking completely lost without KG. They literally gave up at the end of that Hornets game. They were down, what 2, 3 with 6 seconds left and decided to walk away and not foul. They need to get their together or they are gonna drop games fast and soon. Everyone wants to hype Boston and throw them in the mix every year but they are a year older and even their healthiest player (Rondo) has missed a good amount of time. Even with Heat's front court, they are dominating defensively. I doubt they will get the LOB trophy this year but they will be a force to be reckoned with when they get Haslem back. Can't wait for the next Boston/Miami game.
I really like the Knicks starting five. Although I think they need a defensive minded center and coach, they can make some noise with just the talent on their rooster. Their run and gun style will get exposed in the playoffs just like the Suns were every year. But they are definitely on the right track to be up there.
Also, this upcoming lock out. |

I don't have a link here, but I think Lebron came out after his statement about contraction and said that it was taken completely out of context. Apparently he was just trying to illustrate that he liked how the teams were structured in the 80's and not that he wanted to phase out a lot of tier teams.
Gotta love that kid.

Are you worried at all with how Bosh will play in the postseason? He can be a force to be reckoned with, but sometimes he manages to be quite the .

Can't wait to see how the Bull's "young team" develops into a real squad. They go out and hustle, I just want to see them get back to NBA Final contenders.

Yeah, if there's one team that worries me when it comes to the Heat's chance at an NBA Championship, it's the Mavericks. However, Caron Butler is out now due to a knee injury, and that could really hurt their chances. If Dirk doesn't fix up his knee as well, the Mavs are in trouble come the playoffs. |

I hope so but they're not going anywhere without a real 2 guard. OJ Mayo / Stephen Jackson etc. Struggling to beat the garbage of the NBA at home with these close wins against the Nets, Cavs, WIzards, etc. Or perhaps if they can swing the Carmelo trade. But they're a playmaker short right now on offense right now if they want to hang with the Celtics. Magic worry me too because it seems like they kill us every time. |

| NBA is lame. Only professional sport where their millions of dollars still doesn't ensure some hustle. Seriously, the most dispassionate professional sport there is. College B-ball is boring too, but at least they run and try to play defense. |

You clearly haven't been paying attention to the NBA for the last several years. Don't post in a thread where you have no clue what you're talking about.
Oh, and your comment about NCAAB is wrong also, about it being boring. GTFO. |
