meanwhile it was just a sweaty nou who ran to her house to console her after she was bashed. "i know how its like to be hated on the forums"

Pretty sure that Jenny and I are the ones who have bashed her most. I claimed she was so stupid that her posts actually destroyed matter on hard drives.

Way to go, Nou. I'm sure that's something to be proud of :gsmile:

I wasn't saying I am proud of it, but I am contradicting vivids statement that I would come to her defense.

squirrelly
Forewarning: I have not read the thread so I am responding without knowing if you are officially still on the topic or not.

Obviously many of you know the disaster that can be called my ovaries - so adoption comes up between us rather often. I've encountered many children that were adopted in my volunteer soccer coaching and I've noticed the ones that were well adjusted were the ones that knew from the get go that they were adopted. I recollect a cute Asian girl named Lucy that was 3.5 years old who told me that she was born in China but that her parents were from Texas and they flew ALL the way to China to make HER a part of THEIR family. She apparently still kept in touch with her family in China, as well, because her parents thought it was really important that she did not lose her original culture in the adoption process.

We personally decided that when we are ready to adopt, that we would choose a slightly older child (4-7 ish) versus getting a baby for various reasons. 1. There is a list 7898798 miles long to adopt a baby. 2. You're able to meet with/interact/bond with the child and get to know the child for who they are - not fear who they will become and 3. It would simply work better for us, seeing as we are around the age group of 6-8 year olds on a regular basis (my soccer team) and we participate in big brother/big sister programs.

My boss gave her son up for adoption when she was 17 and he recently reconnected with her once he turned 21 and now all of them (her, her son, her other children, her husband) spend all holidays together and get along great.

I think that there are ups and downs and positive stories and negative stories with any situation (marriage, children, adoption) but that only you and your woman will know what will work best for you.
