Amirite? Right up there on the list with rapists and child molesters. Disgusting people.

I don't eat a whole lot of steak anymore, but Medium Rare is the business.

Also, people who don't like mushrooms suck.

Let me guess. You had a bbq/dinner, someone asked for their steak well done and then complained that it was tough and not very good.

I feel like steak is similar to sushi in that the less it is cooked, the higher quality the piece of meat must be. Medium Rare ftw.

And now when someone is over and asks for it well done, i tell them to cook it themselves. I'm not even kidding. I'm like *passes the tongs* " Here you go girl (it is always girls or gays that get well done), this way you will only have yourself to blame...enjoy it it is the last steak i ever waste on you."

I don't see why anyone would bring themselves to eat meat that tasted like shoe.

The terminology really is at least partly to blame though. Rare? Like there's very few of them? Medium? That's for people who only half-ass things. Well done? Oh , of course I want my food well done. Why wouldn't I? I like things fine, too, why would anyone settle for anything less when given the choice?

My gf ordered filet mignon well done the first time we went to dinner. The second time i told the waiter that she could only have salad as punishment for making me spend 40$ on a charcoal brick with steak spice on it. She eats medium now.

And she prefers it, right? People just don't know what they want, that's all. I've never met anyone who tried a med-rare/med steak for the first time and wasn't immediately converted.

I always get medium, since it equates to 'pink' in 99% of places. I'd prefer my plate not be a saucer of blood.
