"Supremely smooth mixing kept the crowd's energy high throughout the show, with an almost constant bassline driving the set. To add to the continuity, the DJs would allow a song to percolate below the surface before bringing it to center stage" - YES!!! Because this a such a novel concept when it comes to DJing. Thank god someone finally entered this uncharted frontier.

"The mezzanine level featured "pop-up" bottle service hosted by Manhattan hotspot Provocateur, making the event feel much more like an impromptu party than a heavily orchestrated concert." - I just can't....LOL. "Pop-Up"...yes because the last thing I expect at a club/party is bottle service options.

Dude, don't hate. Deadmau5 and Skrillex invented electronic dance music, and 2011 marked the beginning of rave... Or something like that?

It's incredible to see how much I enjoyed them back then. I remember hearing "Click" and being blown away, it was ahead of its time. Now they don't even play that song, much less music like it

:(

Dance music's passing me by, I feel old and I'm only 24 but been going out for 7-8 years.

Cheesy review aside, i always wondered how three peeps can mix effectively .. I sorta assumed it was a taking-turns-and-maybe-angello-can-mess-with-the-filter type thing?

I doubt it was pre-recorded oakenfold-steve style, cause there was def. a few slipups, but it must have been planned out well in advance, possibly some of the mashups pre-done? - as the review points out it was similar at the roseland later in the night - although it didnt bother me a bit :)

The popup thing was actually well done, think eyes wide shut atmosphere up there. they had a separate entrance as well and so on. That being said, it feels wrong to have a 'hey we have more money section'. but thats life and nyc i suppose :)

On a different note.. Is the A-Trak set anywhere? I thought he did an amazing job!

back then they were more concerned with the music. i listened to the msg set and enjoyed it, although it wasn't new or original. i think of them now as the Backstreet Boys of house, it's more about creating a fun atmosphere and putting on a big show than it is about the music. i don't think there is anything wrong with that, in fact i'm sure it'll get people interested into other types of edm. either way, glad to see an edm act pull off a show at msg :gsmile:.

I love hanging out with you...but I think you know I completely disagree with this sentiment. These people will completely end up destroying the scene that we've been loving for years...and obviously very quickly.

Anyone know the track that kicks in at 4.25 or so? Is it unreleased?
