| "That's how it's always been done" is never a good reason for continuing to do it. A strict interpretation of the Constitution is just stupid. That's the reason assault rifles exist. The founding fathers were talking about pitch forks and flint lock muskets, not gas powered semi-automatic assault rifles. People who interpret the Constitution as giving them an unwavering right to possess any kind of firearm they please are just morons. It's a completely antiquated and archaic law, and should be thrown out immediately. |

Ok how about this, ill give you your second amendment, BUT in order for it to apply you, you have to pass an aptitude test, have an IQ in excess of 140, be able to show no incest within your family tree for at least 3 generations, and you may not have two first names, hyphenated or not.....
It still baffles me how some of the more retarded elements of American society seem so concerned over gay marriage and illegal mexican fruit pickers and yet dont see the absolute disaster that is the second amendment and health care in your country....
gun ownership in canada is estimated to be about 65% of the american rate (on a per capita basis) yet the US has 15 times the gun homicide rate that Canada does...... maybe if you legalize gay marriage federally and adopt single payer health care system like we did, your rate of useless death due to stupidity will go down as well.... |

I wanted to blame the idiotic witch-hunt for this, too, but it just doesn't look like that's the case, here. His family is suffering because of it, for sure, but it's not as though he was essentially lynched because people's stupidity got out of hand.

| She's obviously in a dire state of denial (who can blame her though, really?); and the legacy of assassination, displacement, and human rights abuses perpetrated on the Chechen people by the Russian government over the last few decades has bred an equally dire resentment and mistrust of major world powers. It's little surprise that those people would not trust the official take on events- they're simply not used to that being the truth. |
