Thats also going on the assumption that they could muster the organizational skills to find the smelly end of a cow.......
cynical opinions aside, I dont think NK has a delusions over the outcome of any direct provocation with the US. They know full well that any "pearl harbor" type first strike actions would result in China completely cutting them off and letting them get systematically annihilated by the all to willing US military.
Even kim jong Un can do math (albeit with some kind of meme worthy facial expression)... NK is suspected of possibly having enough plutonium for a few nuclear warheads (apart from those they have already experimented with). The US has thousands. IF NK had hte ability to successfully deliver a warhead to the US (and that is a huge If), the maximum impact would be a small hand full of targets lost (death toll could be extreme but localized to a small number of targets) The US could push one button and wipe the korean peninsula off the map. I do not think that NK is stupid enough to think that international pressure would stop the US from curb stomping the entire regime in Pyongyang... |
