Cars

So I need a luxury car. I have come to that point in my career where I am competing on the sale of larger more expensive homes and I can no longer pull up in a 2011 Honda Civic. Cars are a terrible investment but unfortunately in this business people judge you on the car you are driving and what label your suit says. Im good in the suit department but I need to upgrade the old trusty civic.

I have 35k to spend and I'm looking for something fairly new.

so My "Realtor" options are these:

Mercedes Benz C series
BMW 3 Series
or Audi A4 or S line

I am not a car guy. I never cared about cars. I just always bought new civics every 3 years as they never broke down on me and gas was cheap and it fit the italian stereotype.

Truthfully I want a Range Rover but i can't afford that .
So I am coming to you guys to ask for your opinions. Has anyone purchased one? what should I watch out for? which one is better on gas?? which one is the least expensive to maintain and fix?

I am also doing my own research online and with people I see with the car...of course. However I'd love to hear your opinions on these douchemobiles.

I hate all of those, but the BMW.

Wait you bought a NEW civic every 3 years? WTF. Why? If you don't care about cars you can buy a new Civic every 6-9 years and never have a problem.

Love Honda. If you are looking for luxury and want to stay in the Honda family have you considered an Acura?
Vivid Boy
ya im not a fan of Acura. I had my eye out on the Sline. however, friend has one he says its a bitch to fix because everything is different from the rest of the Audi line's. parts are rare and hard to come by :(

Acura RL? Bit of a hipster luxury car, but it's technically a Honda. Although I'm not seeing many low KM examples in that price range I'm presuming there are some out there.
Vivid Boy
my only beef with the RL is that i feel the interior looks a little too plasticy

couple of my friends have new BMW's and they are pretty bad ass.

honestly i also think some of the newer Lexus models are pretty nice. i would check those out too.

you want to make an impression or an impression? so want to drive what every other real estate agent is driving? go buy a lotus and make them go wow. ive seen 2006 or 2007 in that ballpark. can't you deduct everything or most as a business cost?
Vivid Boy
I can write some of it off as a business expense yes.

I can get a mazzeratti at that price too....but you know how much it costs to maintain the in thing?
Spacey Orange
i have absolutely no idea.:gsmile: balls to the wall.

Ever see someone get out of a Lotus? It is not a dignified sight. I love the Exige and Elise, and wouldn't hesitate to buy one for a daily driver, but it would not do anyone favours in the real estate world.

The new BMW 3 series is a nice car but for 35k I'm guessing you'd only be able to get something on the lower end of the range. Of course this wouldn't make much difference for the vast majority of clients, but presumably a car guy would snicker at the sight of the 325 badge on the rear where a 335 or M3 one ought to be.

Get a tourbus and fill it with bitches, walk out in a pimp suit with a fur jacket and a big ass chalice and just be like "you want this house nigga?"

Now that'd make you stand out.
