I hope Sunday was a "hello, I'm back" and not "I'm giving you guys one last night"

its funny cause most dj's once they come to the states they play totally different than anywhere else cause of the YOLO crowd
pvd has been guilty of it himself also
i hope this isent just an "on night" for him
hope hes taking a stand and educating the crowd instead of catering towards them

see the link to the photos posted further back?

good pics, but if you look at the front-at-rail pics, and knew nothing else about this show, you'd get the totally wrong impression of the crowd / event.

kandi galore, neon, glow wands, printed glasses, you name it.

so, at least for these PvDers, despite the look, things seemed to have worked out, good sign

Would be dope to get him again at Roseland or something like that instead of Pacha....

Then again for an outdoorsy jam

It used to be, "Paul plays much different in NY and Miami than anywhere else in the US." But the last few years he seems to have gotten his states all mixed up.

I can't really blame him, look at the that these ra-tards go nuts for these days.... Three Dildos behind one mixer, a douche who throws cakes at people and every ing DJ at a festival jumping on a mic to tell people to put their ing hands in the air. Everything has been dumbed down. Hopefully it changes.

Mixer? CD-deck!

At least the Dildos' "we are going to do something new, everyone sit down, yadda yadda" bull didn't make the rounds.

Back when at the sole MSG event, they even said "new" when they repeated it at Roseland AP.
And the crowds loved it!

You never go wrong by underestimating the masses...

True, but the younger kids are more willing to push themselves to the front and stand there all night while us old folks like to find a nice place with enough room to dance.

I was the one between paul and the crowd handing out those foam PVD lightsticks and I gotta say the kids, as ridiculous as they looked, were bringing positive energy and good vibes all night - and that's probably why they had their pix taken more than anyone else
Jesse Landry
Funny you say that about pushing up front. Usually I'm in the thick of it but Sunday I chose to find some real estate and soak it all in. Spent the night on the step between the dance floor and the sand and opulent have been happier.

The kids were awesome and the candy and neon and costumes and toys have been around forever. It's all a part of it.....

If you're true to yourself and your crew then who cares what anyone else is doing

This needs to quoted for truth.

People seem to forget how many ravers there were going to these parties back in the day... glow sticks, oversized rave pants.. the look is only updated and the scene is bigger now.. The difference is we were young back then and not as jaded, haha..

i remember a sea of vandit shirts, back when you had to MAIL IN your order to vandit and literally wait for the snail mail check plus snail mail package w/customs

no one wore like this

have our levels of social acceptability significantly degrade or is subjective to say the same disdain for bottle service crowd

i agree
there has always been kandi raver kids but they were more respectful to the crowd and to themselves
todays yolo ravers are just plain retards the way they act and dress
i dunno how their parents let them leave the house wearing the they do

its such an ass backwards mentality (if you're true to yourself who cares what anyone else is doing), not to be pointed specifically at Jesse

the "i'm there for the music" is almost ignorant at best if you choose to ignore the very crowd that may prevent the music from ever happening...blatant drug suggestions do nothing for the music you love (nor does only buying a bottle will let you hear the music)

what we do need is...

a non promoted word of mouth party released/announced 1 day before or day of the event that cost $10-$20 to get into a venue the size of club love

it starts with the classic artist, not with the party promoters and event coordinators who 'book' acts

did i just blur the lines between mainstream club and blkmarket brooklyn parties, possibly

now a days, would ferry corsten ever go to the basement of Sbarro's pizza in times square with a room full of TA's?

i stopped supporting festivals in the USA because it's the corporate bastardization of what was good and if you fail to recognize that then you might as well just ink yourself as a new generation new to edm new to partying and never use the words OG in reference to your time and duration in this said scene

/notmuchofarant
/truth

less about money more about music, the idea has to be pitched
