Appreciate the gesture, I will consider it. Lately I've been reading passages from Bringing Heaven Down to Earth Book II, and just bought a kindle copy of Breaking Open the Head: A Psychedelic Journey into the Heart of Contemporary Shamanism.
Might be going back to Spain this month to live with my friend/provider for some time in Nerja, Malaga, and G-d willing help people heal with Iboga.
Already agree with this, regarding the book you mention:
"He suggests that rather than mocking religion, agnostics and atheists should instead steal from it—because the world’s religions are packed with good ideas on how we might live and arrange our societies. De Botton looks to religion for insights into how to build a sense of community, make relationships last, overcome feelings of envy and inadequacy, inspire travel, get more out of art, and reconnect with the natural world."
Already had a generally very positive and fulfilling experience living in an orthodox community in Israel, for about 7 months. In general, in modern society, the sense of community, among other things, is certainly very often lacking. |

Another question for the naysayers, btw:
From 'Breaking Open the Head,' by Daniel Pinchbeck:
"Lieberman, an ethnobotanist from South Africa, wrote, "I have spent time in the rain forests of Africa east and west, Madagascar, and the Amazon working with shamans, brujos, witch doctors, healers," Lieberman e-mailed me before the trip. "Iboga I feel to be the one plant that needs to be introduced to the world, and urgently."
"I expected my guide to be robust and adventurous. Instead, at thirty, he turned out to be two years younger than me, and shakier. He also told me that the last time he took iboga, he had been shown the date of his own death, and it wasn't too far away. From the somber way he said this, I knew he believed it was true. I didn't press him for details-later I wished that I had."
Unfortunately, Dan Liberman did, indeed, die of a tragic car accident just a few years later. |

Call me old fashioned, but I don't see a question there. |

The implied question is that is it mere coincidence that "the last time he took iboga, he had been shown the date of his own death, and it wasn't too far away..." and he just so happened to die only a few years later (at only 33 years of age)?
Of course you would have a stronger opinion if you actually did Iboga yourself to know what it really is, but can you for a moment rule out the possibility of mere coincidence regarding his death? |

| If he took Iboga and was shown the date of his death and it was accurate, that seems to kind of go against your free will thesis, doesn't it? |
