Guv's owner quoted in Nat'l Post.... and lies!!! (pg. 10)

All right people, I've come to a conclusion that there is only one solution to this problem (of overcrowding GUV)...

I've been thinking about this for the last 5 minutes, in absence of anything else to do (and 5 minutes of thinking is a lot by my standards), and I've realized that we've been looking at this the wrong way from the beginning. The reason that the overcrowding happens in GUV is because there are so many people that want to get in, be there on a certain night, and of course, Charles wants to satisfy them all... now (of course if Charles really wanted to satisfy his customers) instead of limiting the capacity of the club, he should tear the walls between GUV & KoolHaus down! Yes, that's right... tear the en walls down, and create one massive super club! Of course, in case that he doesn't get enough people in there (regular saturday nights), it would look half empty, right? Wrong! That's why he should create some sort of a barrier/moving wall/huge door in between 2 rooms so he can close one of them (mainly KoolHaus) in case there is just the right amount of people for the main room... And all those small rooms in between, who the hell came up with that idea? Yeah, it sure looks good on paper, but in reality it's a freakin' hassle to go from one through another 2 to get to the 4th one, or whatever. He should've built them all on the second floor and left the main floor for GUV/KH only.

Ok, enough of my smart ass ideas here... Don't wanna waste this brain power for nothing.

Wow, you would fail out of business school on the first day.

What and fail my first year ethics course?!?!?

I already did that, and let me tell you one things:

95% of all the MBAs I've worked with and hired have cared less about the customer and more about making money for their business.

On another note - if you ever have your own business (outside of the financial service) don't hire an MBA - they cost too much - and don't have the drive as someone you can "develop" into a management role.

MBAs might be good for packaged-goods/financial services, but for technology companies hire someone who wants to dedicate a lot of time and a lot of effort to building the business.. Sort of like Charles....

:eyespop: I am very confused as to how this discussion went in this direction. But I will be sure to take note and NOT hire an MBA unless it is in packaged goods/financial services.

Oh, lol, I don't think I was referring to you. I think I had quoted someone else, no offense!

I'm fairly familiar with MBAs and their money grabbing habits - I go to school with them day in and day out.

If you're implying that dedicating time and effort in to your business makes you a good business person, then you are wrong. Successful, yes - probably, but success is often fleeting and comes at a price. I believe Guv is on the way down - every club has its prime and Guv is past its prime by a longshot.

Dude, you can't generalize all MBAs like that. Just because somebody has an MBA doesn't mean he doesn't have the dedication.

Well, sure, the primary reason for to get an MBA is to earn load of money in the long run, but MBA/no MBA - if you like what you are doing and are smart(and to get an MBA i suppose you have to be smart), you are gonna do a good job of it and you are going to be dedicated to you job! The main motivation behind doing a good job, is not at money. It's the interest in the job, benefits etc. So whether you hire MBA/non-MBA, if he doesn't like the job, he'll suck at it. If he likes it he'll do a good job !

Sorry for the offtopic, just wanted to share my view..

Seriously, many MBAs I go to school with are book smart but are the most ignorant inconsiderate asses I have ever met. Many of them think book smarts are a substitute for common sense. I read somewhere that 75% of your personal wealth will come from your ability to interact with and respect people...many people who can't grasp this experience immense short term wealth, but in the long term they lose out.

I am an undergrad at the same business school as these MBAs and on occasion our classes are combined....I stopped taking them because MBAs, on the whole, are too ignorant to sit and listen to for 3 hours/week.
Backlight
Speaking about nightclub tragedies 60 just died in a Rhode Island club fire. It looks like all the patrons tried to leave from the same exit.

u know what???

frem the start i never blamed Kabouth....the people that SHOULD be blamed however are the promoters of the nights...the promoters, as ive stated on several occasions, are the ones who decide how many to let in..not the club

the club is rented out for the night, the promoters make their money off the cover and the clubmakes more money off the drinks...

now i hope all of u change ur views and point the finger to the real culprits...

now that i think about it, the mega club status for any club is if its over packed :stongue: :stongue: :stongue: :stongue:

maybe thats why viva hasnt reached there yet even tho it rules all others

Yes I am happy with what we have. I'm not the one complaining....I'm the one advocating against it.
