| Just emailed the lady about my view of the guvernment and i hope she writes a story on this because I feel if something is not done...it's only a matter of time till a clubbing disaster happens in toronto and no more lives should be lost anywhere in the world with overcrowded clubs and club owners looking for more profit. |

The solution is simple, increase ticket price a little bit and lower the number of tickets available.
Ex.
Lets look at the regular nights $10 (same price to see Ferry) to get in and lets just say 1500 ppl show up.
$10 x 1500 = $15000
now if they increase the price a little bit $15 (which isn't that much of an increase) In order to make the same amount of money they only need 1000 ppl to show up
just like that 500 less people in the club |

I have met both undesirables at Guv and people w/ amazing energy that have become my friends. Ginos and ppl older than my parents are not a safety issue.
I am trying to be an unbiased as possible. I frequent the guv, but I am not a regular in the sense pics of me holding glowsticks and grinning will be found on any guv fansite. I go to see DJ's, not clubs...so I am of the belief that trying to bring a club down is bad for the scene...whether I like to party there or not. I am just as annoyed to see ppl unrelentlessly ragging on the guv as I was to see some ignorant person posting on the guv website that Viva should be burned down.

well.if you all say that you are not being cynical than I will trust that you are not. Guv said that they would only fill to 90% capacity at corsten/seaman and I was under the impression that they had-- I was pretty comfortable. that is the only special event in the main room that I have been to since L of L..it seemed to me that they were being somewhat proactive. I have a repuation for not holding grudges/being forgiving-- I may have to eat my words at armin in april, but I am going to try to go w/ an open mind.

Nobody is saying they want Guv to close entirely. All people want is for some kind of larger body to take a closer look at what goes on there. Scare Charles a bit, let him know he can't ram the place whenever he wants. No, of course it isn't packed every weekend - that's the point. If it were, too many people would complain and business would suffer.
I think it's odd how so many people say "well, Labor of Love was a mistake and Charles apologized for it...end of story." You can't tell me he didn't forsee the crowd issues in advance. It will be a cold day in hell before I believe that Charles only planned to let in the proper number of people and things just happened to get out of control that night. The man has thrown giant parties like that before, and this was no different. He knows how works there.
I personally don't care who Guv brings in anymore - I probably will not return to Guvernment itself, ever. Kool Haus, maybe - I have never had a night there where it was too crowded. For me, very very few DJs could make me want to support Charles and how he squeezes every last dollar out of his patrons. It's sick. |

Viva definitely is better... it's alot smaller and i know of 5 exits in that place... and Viva is attached to a plaza!!! |
