That's pretty funny...so you think the owner has no control over how many people come into his club on a given night? So you think he takes a backseat while the promoter sets the number of people even if its higher than the allowed capacity? I don't think so. Besides, who are the main promoters at Guvt events? Goldclub and Science. Science is essentially Guvt's own promotion company so write that off. Goldclub is essentially Benson & Hedges. All they do is front the cash, help arrange the talent, decorate the place and make sure they're getting their name and product out and in your face throughout the night. That's it. They're not concerned about the club logistics. It's not about the money for them - its about their product promotion. I know this from someone who worked in Goldclub and helped organize events. They're a cigarette company - they make more in an hour from people smoking than Guvt makes in a night.
So regardless, the responsibility is ultimately ALWAYS with the club. No matter how much the promotion company is involved, the club sets the rules and has the last say as far as running the club goes. |

welcome aboard...
see alot of us over here are complaining a bit too much bout the overcrowding off late cos there have been 5-6 club tragedies over the past year cos of lack of room for the patrons to leave thru the exits..what "if" something were to happen here as well right?? |

its pretty funny how u made assumptions that i implied that Kabouth takes a back seat and has no control. indeed he does but hes not the only one single handedly making money out of all these events....hes got his pawns which see the potential for more money to satisfy their greed and assist him in doin so |

Oh, lol, I don't think I was referring to you. I think I had quoted someone else, no offense!
I'm fairly familiar with MBAs and their money grabbing habits - I go to school with them day in and day out.
If you're implying that dedicating time and effort in to your business makes you a good business person, then you are wrong. Successful, yes - probably, but success is often fleeting and comes at a price. I believe Guv is on the way down - every club has its prime and Guv is past its prime by a longshot. |
You talk too much.
No offense, but you're not the only person on this planet who knows (or thinks he knows) how to run a business. It looks to me like Charles is doing mighty well for himself, but if you think that the Guvernment is on the way down, then don't buy their stock.
I can't speak for all TOTA's, but I have a feeling that if you were owner of the Guvernment, you'd run it into the ground in a month. Do you have any idea how complicated the logistics are of running a business like that? Having to balance the DJs, promoters, legal issues, safety issues, profit issues, maintaining the sound and lasers...? Sorry to burst so many of your little bubbles, but those costs add up, and I wonder if the Guvernment's profit margin is as thick as some of you think. It isn't cheap to run a superclub and book 3 world-class DJs on a single night.
And back to the original point, infinity HIGH even retracted his comment about the NP, so what does that tell you? True, the Post may have been fairly objective in that most recent article. But let's not forget that the media is a business too, they care about the Benjamin$$$ too. They're not out to get us, but they're not out to help us either, and believe me when I say that they aren't going to push the Guvernment to crowd less - they are only going to bring a lot of attention to it, and IMHO, very unwanted attention. Negative attention is far, far easier to get than positive (or even neutral) attention.
My two cents. And the comment about stock was a joke, so don't bother commenting on it. |

pssst..its a she
and diginute HAS raised some interesting points..i must agree on several of them... adn that also brings about the reason why drinks are expensive there as well...
not only are there legal payments but also under the table payments (imo) to certain parties so that it doesnt get busted for certain things like drug abuse and so on.
oh and one more thing...diginut..i thikn we should put a word limit cap on u..lol |

Okay, I'll shorten my posts, if you promise not to post more than 4 times in a row in the same thread.
In other words, bite me. :tongue3
(No worries man, it's all good)
Sorry Skippy, it's hard to guess at people's genders online. I'll get it right next time. |

$4.00 water bottle says it all...
they make so much money off water it is enough to pay off the DJ for a night (or a couple of them!) |

Sanitation especially. They've probably gotta wear space suits to clean up after all that messy sex in the bathrooms. |
