Well, I think its pointing out the obvious. No one in their right mind wants to send out 500,000 troops to fight a war, EVERYONE wants peace, no question in that. Too me its a lost cause, when all you can really do is just amplify what we all want anyway, peace. |

War is the last resort, as Saddam did not comply with the UN. I'm fully support the war, not because, i want action, death etc etc, I want to see a lying dictator toppled.
My dad has an almost morbid hate of peace protesters. Why, u may ask. Well my dad fought in Vietnam, as part of the South Vietnamese Army. I would get him to post his opinons on this later, as he feels strongly about this. Anyway, during the war, when the non-communist vietnamese were fighting with the US and France, he was exposed to a lot of coverage of people protesting against the war. Now, the only solution at the time WAS to fight off the communists. There was no talking about it peacefuylly, and eventually, of course, u know the outcome. Now, once the war was won, was there any peaceful retribution for the south? NO. Of course not. The power, as sporttrance put it, was gained, and more could be gained by extracting fear from the other side for daring to resist. Now did the peace protesters protest strongly for the well being of the losers. I believe not. Once their cause (the actual fighting) had stopped they went back to there other lives. My dad and many of his colleagues were put into concentration type camps. Details are morbid, so let just say, that if the south had won, i@m sure the commies would have been treated a lot better.
The fact is peace protesters are too stuck up there own ass to see the bigger picture. Tony Blair put it like this "If we back down, Saddam will become stronger" and he would, cos that shows that we aren't going to stick to our words.
Another thing. Saddam has used Scud missiles which he denied to possess since the Gulf War. Who knows what else he is hiding. Lets just kick his arse! :D |

| right on sporttrance. i think many of us have felt the same way, only to feel threatened by the "protesting" TAs who would attack our values and ideas immaturely. i'm glad u stood up for us. :) |

heh...for the past week I've been scribbling
"War is Peace" and "Bomb Saddam" on the inside of the bathroom stalls.
Haven't gotten any replies to them yet, but eventually some pro-peace guy is gonna start spouting.
I mean, they were trying to organize some sort of lame protest (don't go to class between 12:00 - 12:30pm on thursday) and I think only a dozen people did it, lol what a waste.
Geez, some people are just bandwagon hoppers. I asked my sister WHY she was against the war, and she couldn't give me a legible answer, just some about instability in the middle east. |
