that he passed defending his countries freedom and to help ensure his sons life free from terror and fear....that he was a hero who gave his own life to help others. |

looks like we have two extremes in one thread.
to the peace alliance ppl:
to say that war is always the worst path is to ignore the consequences of the alternative. sure I prefer peace over war, but the old situation was not one of peace. You say you are against uneccessary loss of life, but you ignore the fact that saddam and his regime are responsible for thousands of deaths.
You can't have it both ways. either you allow him to oppress, murder and torture his people OR you decide to do something about it. either way, innocent people will be killed. Don't pretend that ignoring the problem will make it go away.
You say war is never the way to go, I say never say never. Example: I think that (however gruesome) fighting the 2nd world war was preferable to letting Hitler do what he did.
tiesto14, snap out of it man! Of course we all feel for the little boy, but your problem is that you take things way out of proportion. You're trying to get sympathy by posting a sad picture, and on the same page you judge an entire people. American children are worth killing people for, but you don't seem to care about Iraqi children? |

A very wise post ampburner, and i agree with you. I am not against war in all cases though.
In this case, i felt war was not warranted YET. And because enough countries on the UN felt the same way, the US did not have the balls to take it to a vote. besides france would have vetoed it. |

tiesto14, try explaining to this girl that she is safe from being hit by american missiles.
Wars usually bring civilian casualties, and just because you haven't experienced any in your neighbourhood doesn't mean that people around the world aren't experiencing those all the time. You are propagating revenge against Iraqi civilians because Afghanistan terrorists attacked the WTC. Get a clue about Iraq and Al Quaeda, they aren't connected, although they might seem close on a world map to you. Regardless of Saddam's nature, he had nothing to do with the bombing on 11.9. |

I never once said Hussein was involved in 9.11...i am for the war to stop the murderous regime of Hussein and to prevent future American atacks that may come from him having WMD or selling them to terrorists....i dotn want to see any innocent people die...but if i have to choose me or them or my family or them i choose them.. |
