Ooooo, Saddam is evil, he builds chemical weapons, invades defenseless countries, and is so bold as to spy on his own citizens. Worst of all, he doesn't respect the power and soveignty of the UN! Oh, wait, did I say Saddam, I meant Bush! Except now the world hates Bush, and wants to protect Saddam, so how worse can things get?
So why is the US conducting this war? Is it to protect THE WORLD from the terrible oppressor known as Saddam? No, the US is doing what it always does... It's setting up a "free country, with democracy and a free market". Then what it has conveniently done (Bush has actually done) is given the rebuilding contracts to major US firms that supported Bush's election campaign. So when the little entrepreneurs in Iraq rejoice in their new business freedom, the huge American companies will be firmly in place, taking over yet another country....
What America does is try to create neutrality. If a country is "disarmed", it can easily move its corporations in(major stakeholders in the govt, lest we forget Enron). Once this happens, the country becomes Americanized because of the generic approachability of American culture. Soon Iraqis will be wearing Air Jordans, and will be listening to Puff Daddy's new techno album.
Don't be fooled by this "war on Terrorism", for the last 40 years, the US govt (not Americans! Americans are actually more liberal than ever! Go Americans!) has discovered that disarming and freeing countries is good for the economy. Only this time around, the world is not standing for this agenda, and we might actually see the day when the world says it will no longer take Bush's crap! :whip:

Bang On! My respects.
This war is not about freedom, ousting an evil man, weapons of mass distruction, or even dare i say oil!
Its about domintation and the American way! What is the American way you ask? To control and dominate the world's econopmy for maximum profit and accessability. Anyone who challenges this ideal is touted as the enemy.
Opening up the world to a neo liberal free market is all the American Colonial Machine really wants. |

Im against Globalisation etc but lets put this into perspective, under such a state as you have mentioned, the average iraqi wud have a far better quality of life, and the world would be a safer place.

All I have to say is I’m not for war and I’m not against it. I’m sick of people protesting and saying oooohhh the innocent people.. What about out innocent people on 9-11 what about the innocent people that sadam kills. These protesters are lucky they live in this country because in Iraq they would be shot on the spot for protesting…
We are trying to free their country not kill innocent people..
So I’m all for killing sadam and his sons because they kill with no mercy. They kill and rape people just because they did not do good in the Iraq Olympics.. Protesters should be against saddam not us.
I would like peace also but dont yell at usa yell at saddam hes the one that kills his own people |

| i think when this war drags on to 3 weeks or so and more iraqi and coliation forces die..and still no one got sadam..people will start changin thier views..its gettin worse as the days pass..iran was hit by a rocket by accident..dont think they r happy about that..protests are increasing by the day and i think that might lead to violence..hatred to the US is at an all time high and hence the possibility of terrorist attacks increase and so those of u who belived this war my stop terrorist attacks againt the us are wrong..the us is at a very high level of threat..i dont think u can travel anywhere in the world except uk and say that u r an american..for the first time americans cannot walk free in other countries and proud..all american embassys are heavily guarded and all american institutions are shuttin down over the world. so this war turned out to be an encouragment to terrorism not a fight on terrorism and if u call it freedom iraq..i hope there are some iraqies left to be freed. |
