Saddam and his chauffer were rolling down the highway when suddenly they hit a pig crossing the
road. It was killed instantly.

Saddam tells his driver, "Go to da farm over dere and hexplain to dahoner of da pig what
happened."

One hour later, Saddam sees his driver coming back from the farm, his clothes all wrinkled, a
bottle of wine in hand and a cigar in the other. "What happened to you?" he asked.

"Well, the farmer gave me a bottle of wine, the cigar, and his 19 year old daughter
made wild and passionate love to me."

"What did you tell them?" asked Saddam

The driver answered" Good evening, I am Saddam Hussein's chauffeur and I just killed the pig."

kill osama and who cares ? somebody will take his place

ok fine is the word kill is offending, then capture him and put him in jail for the rest of his life...saddam too. it would be one of the best solutions, they are both leaders in societies that that patronize they so much, and they were removed the oraganizations would be lost. i mean what other solution would go to the source unlike this one?

at least this thread has quieted down from the 'new york welcome' phase...

i think other people have already made very eloquent and well thought out responses as to why we should not be at war, and i notice no pro-war page long responses to those (Vesa and JohnSmith, props to you for putting in the effort).

my simplistic version of the debacle is simply this...

what purpose is served by going to war in iraq ?

if the us were really interested in reducing the likelihood of terrorist acts against us, we would be in saudi arabia, not iraq. many people, including hosni mubarak, president of egypt, have opined that this war will bring 100 new osamas into the picture. id say thats the opposite of what we want.

to the people who say we should take out saddam because he might sell wmd to other countries... consider this: n.korea has admitted to selling big bad weapons to pakistan and other 'volatile' countries and what do we do about it ? and in case i need to point it out, no one exports more arms than the united states. hell, al qaida and saddam both got their start with full US backing. to me this suggests we should stop selling weapons ourselves before bombing other countries because they might do it in the future.

in all honesty i feel like there's way too much to say, but the us is just one big hypocritical rogue state of its own. why do we spit in the face of international law and then try to use it against saddam for showing pictures on the news ?

point is, IM NOT CONVINCED in the least, that we should be at war, and if the president wants my backing, or even wants me to shut up about not backing him, i need to be convinced.

just want to say big thanks to those of you who thought out your posts and had something substantive to say. the most frustrating thing about the discourse involved with this war is people's inability to listen to what others have to say - this strict division down conservative-liberal lines that just has people on two sides of a fence yelling at each other.

cheers to dialog, and less name calling *cough*tiesto14*cough*

This is probably out of the topic here.. just wanted to comment on this.

-Truth of the matter is. There's lots of different religious groups in Iraq. Among them the kurdish and Chiitas among others. All this groups are under control with Saddam, and, if Saddam taken out, they will all want control of the petroleum or form their own states, which will disastabilize the region, since neighboring countries such as Egyp, Jordan, Siria, Turkey and others contain this groups also, causing a conflict if this happens. This is IF Saddam is taken out. Also, the muslom world DOES NOT want any American ruling or running their country. In conclusion, I think that Bush's administration has not examined nor looked into the outcomes, the culture and history of the people that lives in Iraq, that Iraq is not conformed of only one group but various groups. It's not like FREEDOM IRAQ and everyone happy, no, there's many conflicts that will follow, causing big time confrontations among the groups and neighboring countries, and we can see that among the Turkish and the Kurds.
