Little boy, again, you are full of sound and fury while signifying nothing. Lose the pedestal, the hegemony, and the subjectivities used as evidence (those will not serve as ample warrant to legitimize your claims).

My argument still stands. Try again little boy. Try to refute part of YOUR own discipline's theoretical core (Philosophy my ass! You only call it bull because you CAN'T refute it; because YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND YOUR OWN DISCIPLINE'S THEORETICAL CORE; and of course the easy way out of things, the easy way to maintain your dignity, is to respond as you did).

My argument still stands. Touche.

Matty McMatterson, you're my hero :toocool:

wow...you dinks do realise that it is MY PART TIME JOB, which becomes FULL TIME in the summer. I make over $25,000 dollars a year even though I'm a full time student for 8 months of the year. Now I know most of you worked at McDonalds during your undergraduate career and are stuck paying off $30,000 debts but that's no reason to make fun of my job because I'm in much more financially stable position.

Actually, no. When I was at Western doing my undergrad, I was a TA. A TA for students like yourself.

TA's make less than I do.

EDIT: So you were one of the geeks that run up and down the aisles checking to make sure people aren't cheating? Wow. I bet they paid you great moola for that.

lol
Do your research. Ivey TAs do not make less than you.

(PS - having a worthwhile PT job to put on a resume has value as well, albeit non-monetary.)

Ok...so dealing with the public (often idiotic public) every time I work and maintaining and being held responsible for a facility that sometimes has more than 2000 people in it at one time isn't a worthwhile job? You do know that modern hockey arenas use ammonia to keep the ice cold and 2-3 compressors are required to keep it going, which requires the Operator (me) to make sure nothing goes wrong....if it does, it's my ass on the line. Yeah...being an Arena Operations Worker is just so not worthwhile on a resume.

Smittens, if you can show me how driving a zambonie (last time I checked, the drivers just drive the machine - how is that dealing with the public again?) will assist you in getting a full time job as a historian, I will rest my case.

Being an arena operations worker is fully worthy of being on a resume if you want to work in that field. But you don't!

Not with the City of London...maybe YOU should do some research. I do the flood, fill the machine, and I have to go to the office right away. Any questions people have, any accomodations the City can make...risk management situations such as icey walkways and wheelchair accessibility.....that's all my responsibility. I'm also responsible for first aid and CPR in case of injury (which I am fully qualified in)...in case of a fire or gas leak, it is MY job to evacuate the building and to be the last one out. This involves wearing a WW1 type gas mask and going into a potentially lethal environment and shutting down the compressors, which if not dealt with in a leak situation, could explode. Maybe you recall the death of Tim Hickman, who died when the zamboni exploded?

If that's not dealing with the public....I don't know what is.

I think you just hate philosophy because you are too stupid to understand it. I tried to stay away from this thread but someone needs to show you how truly stupid you are.

If you don't like philosophy, then fine. But don't call it "pointless babble" because it just shows how ignorant and narrow minded you are.

^^^^ Oh, but it's ok for StereoPrincess and others to call history pointless? As I said...people are doing the exact thing I'm doing in some cases, but everybody is ganging up on me. Seriously, you guys are just a bunch of cleaky snobs.
