Then you are not agnostic but deist. Deism believes in a higher power of some sort without any reliance on revealed religion or religious authority of any kind. Basically, "yes there is a god, but how the hell do you catholics/muslims/jews/etc., have the authority/understanding to tell us what he is or what he wants? Furthermore, how do you have the authority to dictate to us whath we should do? Personally I am a desist. I always presumed that aethists did not necessarily believe that God did not exist but lacked belief in general. Under such a strict regime of belief applied to every scenario I could then sympathise with an atheist's lack of belief leading them to not believe in God. If an aethist were to truly BELIEVE that there is no God than I would classify that person as a hypocritical fool. It would be analagous to myself believing that evolution did not happen simply because I did not witness it happening. |

i'm amazed that diginut hasn't yet come on to shout at u, and tell u that there is no God and that's the way it is :)
personally, i believe in God, and until somebody explain to me where we came from, and all that crap, then i'm gonna keep believing. we didn't evolve out of thin air, if we did, then where did the thin air come from?? ah ha!! now i've got u all thinking!!

eehh just a little bit .. ok i think we evolved somehow..everthing just evolved.... well i know this probably isnt the best example. but take a look at how bacteria grows... it evolves after awhile... then again.. u actually think someone could create all living things.. I believe god is something that people believe in to have hope in life. Darn foools have u met god... had a hardy handshake with the guy.. hes not real... kinda reminds me of santa claus =D |

According to the believers God knows the past present and future because simply he is all knowing, all-powerful, etc....
Now then, on the other hand he has created us human beings because he loves us? He knows whether or not if we are going to heaven or hell because as previously stated, he knows the past, present, and future. So why create an individual that is doomed to hell? According to Christians of all kinds which include Catholics because they belong to a sub-category, God loves us......... He loves us so much he would create us even though he knows we are doomed to hell?
The bible and God is just a fairy tale created by the minds of men in previous centuries to explain the unexplainable. |
