I love travelling with a bunch of drunk Aussies and Kiwis :haha:
'sides, trains are scarey when travelling all alone through countries where they don't speak English :nervous: |
thats exactly how im doing it!!! THATS THE ADRENALINE RUSH!!! the fear is the exciting part!!! plus it gives you tonnz of opportunitys... i mean... your over the other side of the world... why be with ozies and kiwis??? ya can do that in australia/nz... catch my drift??? one of my reasons is to get out of my comfort zone and live a new life and be a new person (in a way) and learn what life is about! im learning Italian (properly now) and did a course (level 1) in German.... so im wanting to take both of them alot further and learn them properly to speak fluently! now thats a goal n a half!!! and who knows what elce might come up?
but what ever floats ya boat right? :) |

there is a huge difference in trains that travel locally and the ways that go internationally....
and why would you be travelling at 2am in the morning anyway (i know backpackers try to save 5 euro's here and there but you just have to have common sense when travelling) |
|
|
| Paulie |
| hahah i dont think it was the 5 euro i was saving that made me catch the metro, i think it was more the fact no cab driver wanted us in his cab lol |

| The Contiki tours are good but you can save lots of money and be more free if you just wing it. |

Actually the reason I went on contiki was bcoz I knew all my costs upfront and most of the trip was planned, including breakfast and (some) dinners. It was too much of a headache trying to work out our own itinerary, book accom, and the rest of it and the costs were ballooning out of control.
So it really depends on whether you have someone to crash with, a local to show you round, etc. That's the best way to save money, imo.
Jolz i said countries where peepz don't speak English. Amsterdam to Berlin isn't what I was referring to. More like travelling through Russia :D (hey i saw those racism videos where peepz were getting bashed on trains by white supremists!). Also travelling overnight is a good way to not waste a day, so a 2am train ride is not uncommon. Of course if you or Paulie are going to be there then you can protect me so I would feel safe :p |

each to their own when it comes to travel really, ive already stated why i hate the tours in this thread somehwere. Anf you realize its hard to get into russia without being sponsored dont you?
Ok then, i was on a train from brno to warsaw overnight and nothing happened, you can always lock yourself in a cabin you know and i do realize people get overnight trains to sleep on and save time/money but its all commonsense if you are on such a tight schedule thats your own problem to deal with :p |
