wow wade - i sure don't envy u having to drive all round europe as a first-time europe traveller....we looked into doin that, and everythin i read from ppl who did it said it was a total nightmare...so, much kudos to u!!! planes and buses all the way for me tho...hehehe

i'm taking laptop to europe.....only cos i'm staying a year, and can't get by without it that long....should be okay cos we won't be walking anywhere except to and from hostels.....and it's listed separately on my travel insurance, so i'm not worried if i lose it.......but yeah, i can see how that might not be very appealing for a short trip.....
muli
i bought and borrowed a few memory sticks and then sold them when i got back :p

yea plains around europe where fine for me, cheap aswell, if you have someone who works in the industry and knows what they are doing :p

I like the convienence of driving about, going where u WANT to go exactly, no tours, no buses stopping in their stops.....I've driven 2 mlb and back a few times as well as cbr. I've driven in longer stretches here then I will be doing over there, at better times of the night. Other options were looked @, all round driving in a diesel works out bestestest.

oh i wasn't criticising or asking u to justify ur choice....different strokes for different folks :) i would've driven too, if we weren't going to a lot of the capital/major cities in europe...it's those cities that they don't recommend tourists driving in......but i will drive for sure later on when i go back and visit the smaller towns and countryside :)
