Gowings??
You dont need one for EVERY country, u need one for like the UK, then the most of europe are the same, and Ireland is different again. SOOOO from memory i think i only took 3, but ireland/EU was joined together so it was all good ;)
ANyways DONT TAKE YOUR CAMERA TO THE RED LIGHT DISTRICT OF AMSTERDAM!!! they are very strict on this and won't hesitate to throw it in the water!
it didnt happen to me as i was told this before hand. |

3 plugs does u world wide. It takes up about the size as the massif 1 and costs about the same (if i remember correctly). Not really that much of a drama....mind u, 3 things vs 1 maybe in issue for you. For me it was a + and I only wanted 2 in Asia (so it was smaller in size), and I'll only need 2 4 Euro and Asia this time....

it's not so much the size that matters for me - it's that a couple of my electronic devices (like my digi cam) i got from america, so they have american plugs...i use them here with an adapter....so, i'd need an american to europe/uk adapter and i doubt i'll find that in aus...so i wanted the world one so i could easily use my american and aus devices.....if i just get the single ones, am i gonna run into problems if i join 2 together?? as in join usa-aus to aus-europe?? i don't wanna blow my stuff up *lol* i guess i can buy a usa-europe one in europe, but just didn't want the hassle of havin to buy stuff like that when i get there..... |

i'm going to africa/asia/america as well tho - so a world one would be handy....esp since i have both aus and american devices......
as for cameras in red light - yeah i know about that....i've been reading rough guides and lonely planet for the last year...hehehehe
eta - oh, africa is same as UK...and Middle East is same as Europe....so i guess europe/UK ones would do me....and can pick up a world one in singapore if i see one :) |

From my less then worldy experience...each country only has plugs for it's own country (as the out). Each airport had the converts all over the place....I was stuck in thailand and hong kong without an HK > AU adaptor (my camera is from HK), but I could get anything to HK.
What I've done in the past, and will be doing again, is taking over an Aus power board, along with the adaptors, then just using the power board as if I was in Oz (can charge 4 things @ once). If your device works in oz, it'll work over there if u have the right converters.....I've done HK > AU > Euro before.....

okay, serious question... does anybody know where u can buy world travel power converter/adapters?? i don't mean the single country ones - i mean the one u can get that has every country on it - it has about 6 plugs on it and u pull out whichever one u need.....all i've found here is one which u plug into an aus socket and can use any country applicance with it - but there are ones which u can use in any country - a friend from overseas had one recently.....but i haven't found them anywhere here :( i sooo don't wanna have to carry a different one for every country..... |
universal adaptor. i got mine in singapore (hell cheap compared to here) after buying one here at Tandy. but yeh, dick smiths, tandy.. those kind of places will have em. |
