Killing terrorists is not nearly as effective as making their cause obsolete. People with good jobs and hope in their lives are not inclined to strap themselves full of C4 and take a ride on bus
:(

I dunno mate, who has better claim on Israel, the Israelis or the Palestinians? IMO both groups have justifiable claim to the land, except Israel has on its side the prime rule to territorial acquisition; conquest and occupation.

If you got an idea to how to make terrorism obsolete, I'd love to hear it. However, there seems to be lots of idiots who want to do some suicide bombing and other terrorist acts, so I think just wasting them is good enough way to making them 'obsolete'.

laughing at someones assasination??

good or bad it doesnt matter, killing is not morally right no matter what...

the fact that he was "assasinated" means that the israelis too are terrorists

Obviously you aren't aware that the word 'assassination' can be used in terms of killing of someone important.

Hamas recently stated about a week ago that if Israel withdrew from the west bank and Gaza, they would definately work with the PLO to make a ceasefire.

They publicly stated they wanted peace if this was done... but ISrael ruined this prospect by assisinating him.

And since word of a terrorist can be trusted?

'high precision weapons' that's what America called them during the gulf war. They're not. Yes.. there have been buildings that have been collapsed..

Your comparison of bus passengers and militant areas is two different things i believe. I think somebody's pointed out already that it is state sponsored attacks versus guys who can afford to strap themselves up with C4 and press a button. How can a state be so irresponsible as to who they attack and kill? But then again.. one could argue that palestine's humanitarian funds are channeled towards Hamas... although there is no direct proof of it.

Heh. Humanitarian aids. Kinda like so much aide goes toward to maintaining armies of dictators in third world country.

Precision weapons are just piece of technology and sometimes don't work as well, due to many factors, human or mechanical.

Or as a conventional wisdom goes, ' happens'.

At least it's not DELIBERATE targeting of innocent people.

It's manipulation by the media. Everything shown on TV, heard on the radio, or printed in the paper is filtered.

Anyways, back to the assassination point... How do you justify killing someone? As well, assassination does not only apply to "someone important."

Why do people go to prison when they murder someone? Maybe because it's wrong.

Nice double standard you got going there. Speaking of double standards, why is that thousands of children die of starvation every day and not a word is spoken of it on the news, while when a couple of American soldiers get killed, CNN swarms all over the damn story?

ok, i have yet to read the whole thread, but i'm jumping in on page 10 in addition to the last point made by slag:

murder, assissination, suicide - call it what u want - the intention & outcome is the same, and is not justifiable.

re. 'double standards' ... well, you don't have to look far to point out one of the biggest and worst (hippocrites) ~ international war criminals in history: THE USA!
they try to justify their actions under the cover of 'fighting for humanity & in the name of democracy' when they are clearly not, plus doing it in full view of the global public eye ... but this does not mean that the States will get away with pre-meditated, pre-emptive strikes, and with intervention on other independent states i.e. Kosovo, Afgh., Iraq; committing gross human rights violations; and violating international humanitarian law by intentionally & knowingly targeting & killing innocent civilians, women and children by using weapons of mass destruction. ...why do u think they never signed onto the new International Court of Justice? because they full well know that their peacekeepers will be held accountable as well as GWB himself ... as pinochet! ... it will take some more time to make noticable changes ... perhaps not in our lifetime ... but the world is starting to wake up!

and the media: it's a political weapon. of course. it's used as a form to manipulate opinions! hence, FOR YOU, it is up to you to be critical and to start THINKING and to find your own ways of gathering facts and information!! be aware & critical. don't believe everything you see!

anyways...that's just a glimpse ... there is so much more ... just in respect to these points alone that i've just thrown in the room. ... continue ... :)

I'm sorry, what would you have Mr. Yassin do? Ask him nicely to come to the nearest Israeli police station and put himself under arrest for the crimes he committed?

I'd like to see this sorry piece of turd on trial, but I'd settle for him not wasting anymore valuable oxygen. It's not the perfect justice, but I think the victims and the families and the friends of those who died because of Yassin sending suicide bombers would settle for it.

I'm not going to bother commenting on media, except that media is driven by money and starving children story (it does get notice once in a while) don't make money more than Americans dying in Iraq.

Oh, you make opinions based on what media tells you, most of the time. So, what does that make you? A fool for making a judgement based on media?

If it means killing a bad guy and someone who was not suppose to be near the area also happens to get whacked in order to prevent the bad guy from doing any more bad stuff to other innocent people and it's the BEST DECISION POSSIBLE under the circumstances and NO OTHER ACTION that would prevent other casualties except the bad guys is available, I think I'd take it.
It's kinda like a car accident. happens. You don't have to like it, but happens, so you live with it.

Ahhh... You're one of those guys. You know, those who'd rather see Milosevic roll over Kosovo and do godawful things to the Kosovars, or AQ continue to use Afghanistan for more terrorist attacks and Taliban continue to deny basic privileges to women and Saddam and his loonie sons keeping killing Iraqis.

But this thread is about HAMAS and Yassin and Israeli terrorist elimination techniques. Carry on.

I live in an university town (two unis plus a college) and I get rather irate at stupid commie pinko lefties. So, it was more of a jerk reaction post by me.

My point is that this is not a thread to discuss Iraq/A-stan/US is evil. :D
