is norweigian the same as finnish? Because what would be the pt on learning both languages when their both the same.
KrissO
I believe that's an insult :haha:
Those languages are nowhere near each other lol.

But say they were similiar, then the point of learning both is a waste ? You would of course only learn one of them.
It would be the same language, but we'd just have two different names on it ;)

if I remember correctly from what I learned at school, Norwegian has evolved from the german/germanic languages, and Finnish has evolved from some of the russian languages or something.. so like krisso said, they are no where near each other.. (ecxept if you are thinking about swedish, couse the fins talk swedish alot too.. and swedish is quite similar to norwegian)

well you know whats the point of learning Norweigian at all when I heard that the youth in Norway can all speak English better than most Americans can cuz you guys have a good education system.

hah, thats a fair statement :)

Maybe it's because most Americans are dumb? (no offense, but from what I've heard pretty much all schools aren't that good, really. I guess that's the public school tho)

No, its not that. I mean the school I went to had a budget of $140mil and that was a public school. We were only two thousand students so the school spent $12k on a student. I think its just all about priorities. Not too many American kids take school serious because you don't need a good education to make a lot of money. Supposly, I mean there were students I used to talk with and their motto's was, "The A student works for the D student." So I guess they choose to be stupid. Oh well things don't look like they will change anytime soon.
