I thought the pathetic human being died a few months ago in a gay brothel. Well, this proves he lives on for a while despite the decrepit bleeding facial sores in his AIDS racked body. Reckon he's still game for a good anal round from a hereford bull again as well or a babe ruth up the pooper.

How ridiculously hypocritical. You support the extinction of the human race via death by asteroid (a particularly lousy way to go, since most people will survive the impact and starve to death as the sun is blocked and crops/animals die), yet you wouldn't do anything to inflict harm and pain on your immediate family and friends.
I quickly grow tired of fools who sit around and bitch about the sad state of the world. Yeah, there are a lot of bad sides to humanity - but why not help to make the world a better place for everyone, instead of just sitting behind a computer, moaning and groaning all across the internet like a prepubsecent child who's just been dealt the grave injustice of being sent to bed without dessert? You'd rather we were just wiped off the face of the Earth? That's the cowards way out.
Despite all the terrible things people do to each other (and the Earth), I still beleive that most people are compassionate (if not blindingly ignorant). Despite all the times I've been brought down in my life, every day is still a gift, a gift that's worth working for. |
tru that |

You may see this as an extremity, which i admit it is, but that doesnt make it ridiculous. We have made this world far worse than it was. We have caused death and destruction of the earth by taking advantage of her resources for our own selfish consumption. Can you tell me what is amazing about this world we live in??? The nature of it is to take from others in order to satisfy ourselves.
OUr eradication is needed. We are harmful to life and this planet. |
Hmm, I think the consumption of the Earths resources are inevitable with any intelligent species such as ourselves. This planet is just a tool, a stepping stone, for our expansion into the unknown and we are provided with these resources exactly for our own selfish endeavours. Hell, what else would it be preserved for? Maintaining the balance of life? The Earth doesnt care whether a certain species lives or dies. We use it, it gets old and broken, we find another and move on. The fate of destruction is the joy of rebirth my friends. |

Sorry for bumping an old thread back, but Cyrus does have a point (God am I actually agreeing with him).
The human race, as a whole, not on a personal level like all of you are making it out to be, is a cancer to this planet. If any of you bothered to look at some facts as to how we're draining every spec of life of this planet, you'd realize how we, as a race, are a poison to this planet. Now don't get me wrong, I don't think humans deserve death. I'm too much of an optimist for that. What we need is a massive change in our way of life.

There's a difference between consumption and overconsumption. We're overconsuming our resources. A country like America would need over 10 Earch-sized planets with replenishable resources (this goes for everything from food, water, air, etc etc) to sustain itself. That's just ONE country. Overconsumption isn't inevitable with an intelligent species. An intelligent species would figure out a way to live sustainably. We are an intelligent species, people around the world have figured out ways to make this happen. The only problem is that the people in charge aren't the intelligent ones. They care more about money, and economics, as if the fate of humanity depended on that. |

I have a theory that human beings were created by the universe to be or to create something that will one day save the universe. We are a catalyst of sorts, hinging on the inevitability of our progress away from the point we are now (as a "disgusting species" on the verge of nuclear annihilation).
So basically, what if we are an immune system response by the universe to fend off some future "illness"?
You should keep in mind that human beings as you know them today have only been 10,000 years in the making, and have only enjoyed the beginning of rough "civilized" technological advancement for 300 years. It's not really fair to judge a species that is still so close to monkeys this harshly; would you beat a dog for not knowing how to piss in the toilet bowl? :D
Give it a million years, or 400 million years like past species had before fallout, and then perhaps you will be glad an asteroid didn't wipe us out. |
