don't take it personally vlad, you have your reasons for voting for bush and i respect that. but i can't respect the manner in which u put down a senior member of congress like that, nor can i respect the manner in which a lot of conservatives or republicans (not necessarily the same) just spit out invectives borne out of horse.

ok. so propose a solution to reduce the deficit now that there have been FOUR tax cuts (playing devil's advocate).

There's no abstract solution. It's many things compiled together that make a good economy. it's the state in which a country is.
In my opinion, this is a cycle. America is too powerful to "come to an end" as people say. It will get better in the coming years, like I said it is a cycle.
I think that if I start up a business and it fails, it's my fault I dont know my way around, not the president's, but I can understand if it 'doesnt' help you, DJ Eco. :)

your closed minded attitude is pissing me the off, that's why i bother. if bush did anything right i'd have no qualms about voting for him. but he didn't and i'm tired of seeing conservative republicans being closed minded about everything and not listening to anyone's opinions.

let's run a platform where we bash bash bash our opponents into submission instead of focusing on our positives... yeah that's the easy way out for the right.

Take it easy guy, notice that there is a smilie at the end of the sentence to mark sarcasm.

But what I do remember was that Kerry voted for tax increases (I think) 96 times, and a few of those bills he wrote that were denied were for cutting military spending. I dont put that in stone though, I dont remember exactly.

whew this is almost therapeutic...

BTW, I'm not Republican. :disbelief

A good place to start with the deficit is with unemployment. He is alittle under, so hes gotta step it up (although the national historical average of unemployment rate is 5.4%, we are at 5.3%). Now what once was with Clinton (4.2% unemployment rate) was because of the boom of stay at home jobs and the internet.

All i gotta say is. . . .

Kerry does nothing but bitch and complain how awful the country is when he could've voted on the senate level and done something about it.

Well I agree, if Bush was to raise taxes, I wouldnt get too mad - he has proposed tax cuts in a very awkward time in our nations history, but I dont expect him to do it. The tax cuts are logical though, when the economy bursted after Clinton stepped down, the country fell into a recession, so Bush had to cut taxes to give the economy a jolt and get people to spend money. Now look at the logic, who is more likely to use the money they got back? The rich or the poor? The poor are more likely to save. The rich are more likely to spend on new cars and houses and invest in the stock market.

i will have to agree with that last part.

it's inappropriate given that the government has been forced to spend more money than i'm sure they planned on BECAUSE of the homeland security department, possible realignment of the FBI, CIA, NSA, and the war. it's just... gah! u don't have the money, u don't spend it. if we as individuals practiced that in real life, our asses would be out on the street picking up scraps for food. i guess if government does it, it's ok... i love how this works. :disbelief
