I just find it interesting that you abhor war yet embrace abortion, its killing either way whether you want to acknowledge that or not. I am not anti abortion, but i do believe that my tax dollars should not be used for your abortion. If you wanna have an abortion go ahead, just don't use my money, take some responsibility instead of relying on the state.

Why is it that so many people have so little understanding of the US system. Bush has no control over gay marriage, he did propose a constitutional amendment to ban gay marriage

my point being, he is trying so hard to do it, because of his own beliefs.

I don't agree, while it may be his belief i think it was done so that other state supreme courts don't start legislating, that of course is not their job.

but that isn't really what Bush wants to do. If I understand him correctly, he wants to deny a woman the opportunity (though I think it should be a RIGHT) to have an abortion.

In additon, Bush is strictly against partial birth abortion. This means that if a woman's life is put in danger by delivering, she cannot have an abortion. Isn't that state-sanctioned murder of the woman? I cannot wait for the first time this occurs. The family will sue the f'n out of the government (or at least they should, since this is in no way different than a company building a car with the fuel tank in the wrong place)

Ok the right to have an abortion is the right to kill, any way you cut it, i just find it ironic that the same people willing to sanction abortion are the the same people who have issues with war. The right to have an abortion is a very loose interpretation of the constitution, one which the original drafters surely did not forsee and or sanction. As i said though, i am not saying a woman should not have that right but that i should not have to pay for it. As a taxpayer I have that right. Secondly, I would like to see the statistics on how many times a womans life is in danger due to pregnancy, I cannot make an informed decision without that info. Of course you will not be able to find that info because it is not readily available due to privacy laws, so i'm not sure how one can come to an informed decision. Third, suing the gov is equivalent to suing the US taxpayers, after all thats my money.

heh i love the spin both sides are putting on this.

pro-war, anti-abortion = people are dying say opponents
pro-choice, anti-war = people (according to opponents definition of people. i guess i just opened up a can of worms) are dying say opponents

it'll never end! :)

Spin would presuppose that I am distorting facts. I am not necessarily pro war, its a dumb label, its like saying i'm anti peace. I believe that pacifism ultimately leads to even greater destabilization, history tends to be on my side. So before you say i'm spinning lets present facts and compare. I don't need to spin because i have no agenda and i'm not running for office.

u're right, spin might not be the proper word for this... what i'm trying to get at is that both sides are pretty much accusing the other of killing people
