Kerry just conceded (pg. 16)

I run a Young Democrat Club in GA. I still hate being the center of attention but I got involved because it seemed like the best way to make an impact.

Down here we managed to hold off this City/County for Kerry by 51%-49% + get our Democratic congressman reelected by a landslide. Looking at the rest of the state looks like someone drove across with a red paint roller.

I think I figured out how the Republicans did it. They seemed to focus only on "Faith", "Morals", and "Values". I talked to 3 girls in an hour who told me they voted for Bush because they didn't like Kerry's on partial birth abortion. Another person (who seemed like a good military draft candidate) told me he votes for Bush simply cause he can't stand gays & lesbians getting "married".

So it seems like after all the time I spent slamming our campus Republicans on the Economy, War on Terror& Iraq + Energy it seems like all they care about is abortion and gays. It's frustrating as hell cause these people aren't well off financially but they're voting against their economic interests. I'm Methodist and these things bug me a little but it's not the world to me.

I think that's what happened in OH, FL and all the red states. For years Bush's Poli. advisor (who my officers want to strangle) said he could get an extra 4million Christian Evangelicals to the polls and he worked at it. He sent Bush-Cheney people into churchs to spread information and College Republicans around to say stupid shi* like "Look at your values and vote your values". But look at the results.... Subtract 4.0 Million from the vote total and you'll see Bush losing the popular vote by 500,000.... JUST LIKE LAST TIME.

This has been a painful 24hrs and I see that in these posts. But never give up on voting. All the REAL issues we covered/worry about which the Republicans ignored are going to come crashing down on them in 2yrs (or less, Hungary, Netherlands and Poland have already told us they want out of Iraq by March). Bush and the Republicans in total control will screw things up but we'll nab them in 06

who denied anyone equal rights? please dont bring up marriage, because marriage is not a "right". its a state sponsored agreement.

there is a percentage that was released by the Associated Press, saying how much of Bush's time was spent at his RANCH. do some research, bc the figure is kinda embarassing. Bush spent a little less than half the year during his first year on his ranch. dont open ur mouth if ur gunna be one-sided on things.

and what are you gonna do about it?

What are we 5? Come on, even I think thats a childish way of responding.

well thats kinda too bad cuz i could give a at this point. The race is over and bush is here for another 4 years. If kerry was so great, he wouldve won, but even his fancy talk, his debate strategies and great plans couldn't help him. Go ahead and make fun of Bush with all of his "bushisms." Bottom line is, he still won so you can either be proactive if you dont like something, or get the out of the country.

So what are we left with? I bunch of bitches who are just like kerry . . .they bitch about everything and don't do anything about it. Who the gives a if they vote. They think that just because they vote, they should get whatever they want.

Face it ppl, Kerry wasnt there when we needed him for the past 20 years, and what makes you think that he will ever be?
Busy Child
and for the record, Hungary pulled out of Iraq because they promised to stay until the elections.

gays arent entitled to the tax break that married couples are, for what? church was separated from state a long time ago.
i didnt realise that that line of married/single on the federal income tax was a 'state sponsored agreement'.

yea and guess what kerry voted against. . . . ill let u figure it out.

ok i got in on this REAL late in the game so ill keep it short.

Most important thing to take from this election is the MAP the red and blue states and the formation they take place. last nite i google the civil war to search for the conferderacy/union map and was appalled to see that all the conferderate states voted bush (including unsettled territory)and the union states voted Kerry...are we moving backwards? Bush has a big job ahead of him now--the nation is divided. Also remember the map in 2000 looked identical to the one from 2004.

That being said we can not have these 50/50 elections the nation need to have a candidate that will win by a decent margin. i predict 2008 elections will be a McCain/Giuliani ticket that NO democrat can beat. Hillary and clinton can run (w/ clinton as VP) and the DEMs stll wont win. The dem party does not have any GREAT candiates and Kerry lost precisly for that reason. People voted to get BUSH out not kerry In.

I voted gore in 2000 cause i hated bush and i voted kerry in 2004 cause i hated Bush. In 2008 ill vote McCain/ giuliani cause i like them. I thought McCain should have run in 2000 not Bush and Giuliani is has the leadership form 9/11 to secure himself.

Why do i hate Bush? to much to write in one post- but i believe he approaches govt in a very orwellian way. If u havent read 1984, read it and watch it unfold. This election was won based on FEAR.
