No. Xavi is a lot better player before he got injured and trust me, I am watching the players who works in the dark. |
Best player who works in the dark is Makelele IMO.
Xavi's good no doubt but Pirlo's just fantastic on his day. I don't get to see much Italian football over here so I usually reserve my judgement on players who play in Serie A but whatever I have seen of Pirlo has really impressed me.
Also, the world cup is the benchmark for players to up their stock and their wages and I think Pirlo did just that. He was man of the match in the Semis and the Finals and was just marvellous to watch in all their games and I would love for him to play for United.
As of now heres what it looks like is the best lineup we will have at our disposal to compete with Chelsea at this point
------------------------Van Der Sar--------------------------
---Neville-----------Ferdinand--------Silvestre----- Heinze
-------Ronaldo--------Scholes--------Giggs--------Ji Sung-------
--------------Rooney----------------------Saha--------------
Id rather see Vidij in place of silvestre and its likely that Scholes and Giggs will not start in many games so O' shea will get plenty of playing time. Expect Rossi to start several games in place of Saha or partner him up front with Rooney playing behind them.
Theres no way ronaldo will leave. Ruud i think is as good as gone and if we havent added new faces by mid august, Fergie is going to be under enourmous pressure and will probably have to buy Torres out his contract for 41 million and pray that he decides to hop over. I have my fingers crossed but currently we are not in good shape. |

Pirlo > Xavi
Prilo > Any Manchester United Mid-fielder
Pirlo is not leaving so keep living in dream world like you are with Torres.
That XI raveed is you say compete with Chelsea how about Arsenal, Liverpool and even Tottenham. |

I know that but im talking about the team to be selected if the squad is fully fit.
Congrats, it looks like torres is staying with Athletico. I still have a feeling that he could move in January but im pretty sure hes wants to wait till chelsea or barcelona come knocking.
This current united squad really does look like mid table material. I dunno what the they are up to. We already admitted we are looking to sell van nistelrooy which is going to affect his relationship with the club and with torress' statement, fergie cant sell him until he gets a replacement of similar quality which is highly unlikely. If anything its probably going to be trezeguet. Tevez should have been another one to look at but i guess hes also going to be in the same boat as torres.
What scares me more is Glazer's debt though he was so sure United were going to double in value but now it looks like the value might end up being halved. This current squad will struggle to make it to the champions league especially with tottenham and newcastle really beefing up their squad and no europe next season will be a huge disaster. Less money to pay huge debts + no giggs, solksjaer and probably scholes as they are all heading towards retirement. If no europe indeed does happen, its all downhill from there for united. |

I would've choosed Vidic instead of Silvestre.
Torres has already confirmed that he's giving Atlético another shot after the huge dissapointment last year. Probably because Bianchi was the manager and we had to find our way of playing in the middle of the season with Pepé Murcia who wasn't good either.
Even though I don't like Torres that much, I'm still glad that he stays at Atlético this season. I doubt he will leave in January, only if we really play and don't have a chance for Europe.. |

So the dreaded words finally came out of Fergie's mouth - "None of our supporters will be disappointed if we start next season with the current squad that we have".
I guess im not a United supporter then :( |

:haha: :haha:
I still can't understand wtf is up with the lack of centre midfielders. Does he honestly think Fletcher, Giggs and Scholes make a top midfield in the Premiership?! |
