well im beginning to have a change of heart as far as the irish leprechaun is concerned .... i realize now that the united fan club should have been patient and given glazer atleast a couple of seasons before going on the offensive .... hes a businessman and a successful one at that and clearly wouldnt take out that kind of loan to invest in a club if he didnt see it having a very profitable future ... so hel raise ticket prices a little bit but i guarantee that wont stop the ground from selling out ... some people may not afford to see the games any more and i sympathise with them but business is business .... hes won over bobby chrlton , promised fergie a permanent job as well as a hefty transfer kittty contrary to earlier suggestions of a 25 million pound restriction ....
im still not totally convinced that the glazers were the right men to take over but after hearing their promises ive definately softened my stand a lot and am really looking 4ward to the next couple seasons to see exactly how much success they can bring the club and in the meantime FC united and the rest of those nothing better to do united fans need to seriously chill out and take some psycho therapy |

| quote: | Joel Glazer has insisted he is not fazed by the £500million debt required to buy Manchester United - and gave the clearest hint yet his family intend to blitz the overseas market in order to maximise profits.
In his wide-ranging interview with the Red Devils' in-house television station MUTV, Glazer was not specifically asked how he can marry the clear need to make more money with his insistence that supporters will notice no change in how the Old Trafford club is run.
But, after rejecting outright the possibility of a sale and leaseback of United's world-famous home, or a massive hike in ticket prices, or severely restricting Sir Alex Ferguson's room for manoeuvre in the transfer market, Glazer did admit to the possibility of doing 'more things' overseas.
It has already been suggested United will play an annual match in Tampa, home of the Glazer's NFL franchise, while later this month they will jet off to the Far East on a four-match tour incorporating Hong Kong, China and Japan.
And it is that region in particular where Glazer probably sees rich pickings.
"All we want to do is help the club carry on,'' he said.
"We want to grow what Manchester United has been whilst recognising there are maybe some more things we can do overseas, which benefits the community and the football club at large.
"We want to keep the club moving forward and building on the traditions, while taking advantage of some other opportunities."
|
if he does fulfil this promise ... he has my wholehearted backing ...clearly the foreign markets especially the states where the glazers swing a lot of weight is where all the money lies and Manchester United still has the largest fanbase in the states and Asia which can only get bigger as football is still a game which is very much on the rise in both continents .... |

noobs the least you could do was keep this thread alive while i was away ..
intersting bit of developments over the past month
- ferdinand is stil debating over his new contract ... i think fergies given him enough time and he should really come to a decision before the start of the season .... if we play him in the champions league and he decides hes not signing, his transfer value is going to plummet and hes gonna be a marked man by the OT bad boys
- phil neville of to everton.... sad to see the lad go but i never rated him good enough to make the first team at united anyway ... good luck to him now if only we could get rid of kleberson and bellion we could add another player to the payroll
- apparently Erriksson has appealed to us to sign owen from madrid ... owen would be a good addition but we dont need him right now ... saha and RVN were injured most of last season and they still tops in my book so i think fergie should give them atleast till the january window to prove themselves before deciding if one needs to be offloaded and sign owen as a replacement ... i cant see him going to newcastle since they already made a ed up start to the season and have only bought in 2 players and sold 8
oh btw *BUMP* |

Saha is injured yet again....he will be out for a few weeks...so it puts back the possibility of a bid for owen...
I think we need a good midfielder more than a forward right now...but can think of the perfect midfielder |
