Haha. Take that Man U scum! Go get a real playmaker and maybe a tall striker who can head the ball because one dimensional attacks get bogged down easily |
What a load of crap, there's absolutely nothing wrong with or something missing in that squad. It just wasnt to be for them last night. |

Man U has no striker who can win the ball in the air. Long balls may be cheap, but at least it adds another dimension to your game.
Scholes and Carrick aren't natural passers and they couldn't create anything. Hence why a lot of Man U game this year relied on Ronaldo on the flanks for creativity. Not saying Scholes and Carrick are bad players, but I think having that playmaker to create something from the centre midfield is vital, esp. in European game.
Milan crushed the midfield and since the strikers can't get anything, Man U's attack fizzled out. At least with long ball, you have something to bring the ball up the field and allow others to latch onto it.
Did anyone read about Fergie's little rant today? He's being a bit of a sore loser. |

Carrick and scholes are among the best passing midfielders in the english game. Perhaps carrick hasn't hit the sort of form that got him his move to United, but scholes has been sensational for years, his range of passing is unsurpassed in the english premier league imo. |

It is very debatable. I don't think Scholes and Carrick creates enough from centre midfield the way someone like Juninho or Kaka or Riquelme does. Different brand of football too perhaps, but still.

If it's stupid, but it works, then it's not stupid.
If it gets you goals, how can it suck?
Yeah, football like Arsenal and Man U looks pretty, but without a backup, it doesn't get you wins |

Useless comparisons.
Scholes and carrick are more like pirlo.
Someone who sits in the pocket behind the attacking midfielder/strikes and pings passes 30/40/50 yards to their target.
Kaka is a player all about running, sure his one touch passing is great but i wouldn't say he is recogisable as a great passing player, more a dribbling player. Juninhio hits good free kicks/shots and thats about it as far as i'm concerned, he does very little else from the games I watch of him. Riquleme is a silky type of player who infuences games further up the park than both scholes and carrick.
Perhaps scholes and carrick shouldn't play in the same team and instead one be sacrificed for the gattuso/mascherano type player, but regardless of wether they should play together or not - they are both great passers of the ball and do influence matches in their own way. |

Yea Scholes and Carrick play very similar football to each other and one of them needs to go to make way for a defensive midfielder. Its a hard decision because Scholes will never be dropped but hes in the twilight of his career while Carrick is a top notch talent who when in form is as good as any.
In addition to a holding midfielder , we need a good left winger as a cover/future replacement for Giggs (I think next season is going to be his last) as well as a left back (since both evra and heinze are ) as well as an out and out striker. Saha is decent but hes inconsistent and injury prone so I would like to see him leave at the end of this season. |
