tbh i was pretty certain we would lose to Everton even before i knew the team fielded was second string - thus im not that disappointed. And if you noticed how furious fergie got when we were denied that penalty , you would acknowledge that he really didn't want to give up the FA cup without a fight. He cited the state of the pitch as a reason why he didnt field his key players , a claim that has been backed by Arsenal and Chelsea as well.
What perplexed me though was the order of the players chosen to take penalties by Fergie. I am quite surprised that the media has not bought up why he would choose Vidic and Ferdinand before strikers like Tevez, Welbeck and Berba. I guess he probably shuffled the pack after Berbas penalty thinking that its not a strikers day today.
I actually am opimistic about this defeat given that it is technically the least prestigious of the 3 trophies we were left to compete for and with all the talk of the quintuple , I think that this loss might relieve some of the pressure of the players.
Good luck to everton in the final. Il be supporting the blue half thats not from london come May 30. |

WOO HOO but what a rubbish match. After the first 10 minutes it seemed that both teams were just passing the ball around waiting for the final whistle to blow. And here i thought this would be a contender for game of the season.
And that red card on fletcher was a shocker from the ref. UEFA really need to have a card appeal process set up. Unfair decisions like this that cost teams their clutch players in such massive games must have a process for them to be overturned. |
