You'll be fine! I have no doubts that youre going to kill it bro. Hell you may even play better infront of a crowd. I sure as hell do. When i'm in my bedroom, I have no energy to feed off of. When I see a crowd of people dancing....be it 10 people to 500 (which ive seen and christ what a feeling)....dancing and having a good time to my music, I play so much better. I know I can't drink and play, I'll up. I should be ok on a Vicky. Thanks for the advice. I just wish I had some practice on some CDJs before tonight. How did you do your first time in a club?

actually you should have a drink or two to loosen up. it worked wonders for me last night. and dont think youll up cause then you will. take it one mix at a time. just hope that youre familiar with the mixer. i got cursed with a Rane and had to mix with the monitors instead of in my headphones how i usually do

Dude, what the is a Rane?

Mixing with the monitors?? :wtf: that!

I don't know what kinda mixer this place has, but if it ain't a Pioneer DJM600 or 800, I think I'm in serious trouble. .

Rane mixers have beautiful sound quality, but you cant hear both tracks in your headphones (on the ones ive played on), meaning you listen to the song you have cued in your phones, and whats playing on the monitor. Hence the whole "dj with one headphone off while mixing look". Its a bitch for sure, after a few gigs like that I started to practice now and then with one headphone on. "Yuri" style mixers are interesting. No crossfader, everything is rotary nobs. First time i played on those I was like...."uh wtf is this "...but once you figure out what nob is set to what, its not a big deal.

As for my first time playing, I did fine. I can't even really remember my first "club" or "lounge" gig. It may have been at 99 in boca, for like 2-300 kids. Or it may have been at capones in ft.lauderdale. Either way I did fine. I've never really "bombed" a set. Thank christ. I mean, if you can do good in the bedroom, you should do fine in the club, assuming you can adjust to your settings. If possible ALWAYS CHECK OUT THE SETUP BEFORE YOU PLAY . Or at least show up early. I can't stress that enough! You dont want to go there and be caught with your pants down. "Oh what do you mean you only have turntables and ty american audio cd decks..." You don't want that happening.

I will be playing a gig on the 30th and last night I met the manager, the resident dj's and looked at the booth. Their mixer is cool, but I ing hate the denon cd decks they have, so im bringing my cdj1000's and plugging them into their four channel mixer. Problem solved. I wouldn't sound nearly as good on those decks, i'm just not used to them. I can play on whatever for the most part, but for some reason those dumb high-end denons are my anti-christ.
