:D And agreed, that poll is just crap, pure and simple. The only good thing I'm looking at on there is that ATB is at #13 and that a certain DJ whom I completely and utterly despise went WAYYYYYY down. :D |
lol 61. DJ SAMMY what the ass |

Double kudos to Chris Lawrence he's great but I didn't expect him to fly all the way to 4th!!
I think Markus should have been in the top 5! |

I sort of figured Tiësto would move down & Armin would come in...I didn't except for PvD to win it again but kudos to him anyway.
soooooooo DISCUSS.
I still say top 100 is a joke. |
I didn't want to attack the poll, but yes DJ Dan is a joke at that slot. I do not agree with a lot of slots, but it is very subjective. If elections can be rigged, so can polls. And it ultimately is a popularity contest won by whomever has the best PR team, websites, email lists, etc, etc. I say see who you like when you can and ignore the polls as much as you can. Now if we could only get club owners and promoters to do so as well and book based on talent along with the other factors, not just based on polls, status and name recognition. |

Hey, you never know....ATB IMO was kinda cheesy with his productions but as I've found out recently with his 2006 livesets, aside from technical skills, the man puts on some KILLER in' sets! The same MIGHT be possible for Sammy, but we don't know for sure!

Imagine if it actually WAS rigged. That would be some ! |

Lawrence is good, but not that good. Markus is coming up, give it time. He may well break the top ten in a year or two if he keeps it up. Remember Armin was just starting up in 2000, and God knows where he was rated. Now look at him, rated near the top in every list. (and yes I know he is overrated to many people - I am just making an example)
The only list that matters to me is mine, that is what I go by, and I find it hard to say one is really better than another. It is just a matter of taste, timing, and state of mind when you see a DJ. |

There are subtle ways of influencing votes some of which I mentioned before, and more forward ways to do it as well in this computer age. From voting more than once, voting for people that do not exist, to outright hacking. Anything is possible. You would also have to look at who owns DJ Mag, and whether they are affiliated with any booking agencies/production companies/labels/etc, and whether they actually hire a certfied accounting firm to handle the voting tabulations and announcing of results. Such a firm would have to certify the results and put their firm and license on the line, and would be much less likely to allow a rigging.
Rigged or not, some of those picks seem acid-based at best. I want whatever they are taking. |

Interesting theories and I think they hold water, especially in this year's case. I mean like Lis said, where did DJ Dan come from? He just appeared in the top 5, passing over Ferry like he did? Ferry is pretty popular these days, and more popular then DJ Dan for sure! IMO H4X were responsible for getting that peahead (DJ Dan) where he is now on the poll. Or, if DJ mag happens to be affiliated with DJ Dan's booking agent or anything like that, then we def. got a conspiracy going. |
