Thank christ my dj partner had used them before so he helped me out a few times. But after playing on a rane once, I started practicing so it wouldn't be a problem (practicing in the bedroom with only one side of my headphones on) in the future. Helped me SO much. Most clubs i've been to use DJMs, but some use Ranes, and you dont want to have to deal with that bull. If you haven't done a public gig before, its better to play it safe than look bad. I'm sure you'll do great though. I'm calling my friend now to ask him what kinda mixer the club has. nchs09 do couple of jesus poses.... throw in souther sun.. and slam mixes ala okie... and you wil make it far in the scene. If possible ALWAYS CHECK OUT THE SETUP BEFORE YOU PLAY . Or at least show up early. I can't stress that enough! You dont want to go there and be caught with your pants down. I will be playing a gig on the 30th and last night I met the manager, the resident dj's and looked at the booth. Their mixer is cool, but I ing hate the denon cd decks they have, so im bringing my cdj1000's and plugging them into their four channel mixer. Problem solved. I wouldn't sound nearly as good on those decks, i'm just not used to them. I can play on whatever for the most part, but for some reason those dumb high-end denons are my anti-christ. I can't stand Denon equipment either. American Audio CD decks...? :wtf: I didn't know the US was capable of that level of technology. :stongue: We should be there early so I'll def get a chance to scope out the stuff.
